Jasper the Weiner started going off his food yesterday. He would still drink and I gave him some rice which he took.

Tonite he won't drink either.

We have a vet appointment at 7:30 am......

My first dog was named Jasper too. Hope your Jasper will be ok.

By this morning he was pretty weak. I carried him out to the car rather than him walking on his leash and I carried him into office.

He did get down on the floor in the vet's office and act like he had to go. I let them take him because if they needed a 'sample' it looked like he was ready to give them one........

I'm waiting for them to call. I'm really worried.

I hope everything is well. I had 5 dachshunds when I lived in Brasil.

Issues they had that worried me through time were once my Xica played too much in the yard and then by night and the next day you couldn't even touch her she was howling so much. She'd just lay on the couch and not move and looked miserable. Turned out she was just sore 'cus she ran and jumped way too much all day. Another time she was sore on the belly again and like yours, not drinking or eating much, and a trip to the vet showed she had eaten a huge bone alone and the x-ray showed she had way too much bone in her instenstines so the vet said she was just constipated, badly.

His blood work is all normal except the red and white cell count is very low. The blood work is being sent away. He is staying overnight.

I don't look for a good outcome......
