My lawyer received the NOA1 notice March 17th, (dated March 12th). He said Vermont was also supposed to send me a receipt notice, but as of April 17, I still haven't. I talked to USCIS today and they said they have in their records they DID send it to me. But I never received it, and I have no idea why I wouldn't have.

Granted, our lawyer has a notice too, but it kind of makes me a little worried about future correspondence (although I did receive a letter from USCIS recently telling me our request to expedite was denied, so I know they DO have my correct address...).

Just feels odd.

On a positive note- I bought my wedding dress today! Trying to stay optimistic...

It´s interesting how my lawyer told me it´ll take 3 months to get noa2 and when all together 4 months has passed i´m in the USA again..... they are saying this because their previous records from Vermont SC. So it wouldn´t be so odd to get the papers in June..... :innocent:

An attorney told my cousin that it would only take three months from the time she filed until her SO comes to America. I can't even imagine what data the attorney was looking at to come up with such an unrealistic time frame. It's looking like ~4 months just to NOA2, then the file still goes to NVC & Jamaica. The US embassy in Jamaica is scheduling interviews about 5 weeks out. I don't even see where the attorney's estimate came from. But I guess we'll see if she can work miracles when my cousin files in a few weeks.

Carl,

I notice that your number on Igor's list is very different from mine... so I looked at the 2 lists... on one we are like 275 and the other it more like 375. Do you (or others) have an idea as to which Igor's list we should be using? The new and improved or the old?

I keep track of both my numbers - the one on this site and the one on Berkeley's. But I agree that the main thng seems to be movement. Berkeley's list appears to drop names if there is no update for an extended period of time. Might be correct in doing so, but of course there are some who are indeed waiting many months. I believe folks generally get close to approval when around the 130 to 150 mark on the VJ list (as a general rule).

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

I have run those numbers also... last time I looked it was 109 days... I won't let myself get too excited since I think it ebbs and flows too much to take today's numbers and forward them out too much. Having said that... if it makes you happy to think this way... by all means :) I do secretly hope it continues too.

I'm becoming a split personality. On the one hand, I tell myself the wait will be long and to anticipate a worst case scenario. On the other, I look at the optimistic numbers and hope for that. The only thing I know for sure is that 5 weeks of the waiting have passed, and our relationship is stronger than ever. So I have a lot to be thankful for (in between my mood slumps  hehehe).
