Hmmmm, I just looked at my time line also which now goes out to the 6th of September. Aside from the fact that it really sucks... I have to ask myself why? So I have started to look at the numbers again... just for giggles and kicks... I didn't keep track of where I was on the list from the beginning so it is a little hard for me to say... but I have a plausible explanation, in that the last 10 approvals were much older than the average. Which on one hand is good (getting all the people approved that should have already been approved) so the average number of days for the last 10 approvals is 153 days as compared to the average for the previous 30 of 117 days. Anyway... it makes me feel a little better looking at it this way.

'mornin Richard. I agree with you, I have done the same math gymnastics and logically - it just makes sense. However, it is torture to go and check "the list" and see duplicate entries, people that don't update their timelines......and only a few approvals every few days. Every day I say I will not look, I will not look...and then I look.

Okay, off to not look. Have a great day ya'll. Think I got the listing yesterday, I go back tonight to see them again.

P.S.

Keeping ya'll informed on what's going on with HUD and houses and the housing market in general - we got this announcement last night from our Coldwell Banker Corp. office -

HUD made an announcement on May 12 and I in turn sent you a copy of the release that was on Realtor.org that they were going to allow homeowners to use the $8000 tax credit as down payment monies by empowering state agencies, non profits and HUD approved Mortgagees to lend the monies to home buyers. HUD drafted HUD Mortgage Letter (2009-15), however, the letter was never officially released. HUD has since reversed their position on allowing the monetization of the tax credit over concerns that the proposal too closely resembles the now illegal practice of seller funded down payment assistance programs. IRS officials were also concerned that the proposal could create income tax issues.

The government may continue to seek other alternatives associated with boosting affordability and circumventing the 3.5% down payment requirement, but until further notice they have apparently killed this initiative.

I think that this will keep a lot of first time home buyers out of the game for now. What we see a lot of here are are younger buyers, medical students, etc., just out of school and most have good credit but not a lot of cash reserves. Allowing them to use the tax credit as a downpayment would have gone a long way towards stimulating the housing market nationwide. I wonder what's next....

I don't see California approving anything any faster. I see the averages, and until we get the NO2, we are still a part of the same waiting-game. It sucks. I mean think about it, we are all on here because we want support and direction. Some have personal obstacles that are keeping them apart, and the rest of us are just plagued with the USCIS dictating when we can go on living again. None of it is fair... Our timeline does not show anything right now.

Another odd thing about my time line at least is that what once had a 10 day spread between the 2 dates now has 28 days between the 2. Which begs the question, why? I agree and understand that this list is for informational purposes and should not be relied upon... and I am not.. I do, however, find this very interest.

And yes, I find it interesting that the CSC people do not have a time line now... I think it must be the way Igor calculates the data and when the data falls way out of the norms, the program doesn't know what to do so it does nothing. :)

Or, maybe Igor (the mysterious one) is playing with the proggie?

No offense, but in my book average of 83 days (CSC) vs. 124 days (VSC) is faster.

We are at 67 days out today.

At least we had a nice long Skype session this morning! Now off for a phone call to put her to bed.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I think what the OP was trying to say was that the CSC has slowed WAAAAAAAY down recently, despite the fact that you point out the average of 83 days is much less than the average of 124.

That's true, but they appear to be still ahead. One way or the other, have to agree with the fact that no mater which SC we filed with, it's still the same game. And it sucks big time!

It definitely stinks. I know no one wanted CSC to slow down. We were hoping VSC would start approving at the same rate. Not a competition, but for a while CSC was showing what could be done.

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list
