UPDATE!!!

He's here!!! I picked him up at the airport here in Jackson last night at 6:00 p.m. I cannot say how happy I am right now!

In case you were wondering what's in the mysterious brown envelope that everyone talks about - in ours was our original application that I sent to Vermont, with every correspondence, service request and Congressional Inquiry that I made! It even had the original FedEx envelope that I sent it all in! I was amazed that we got it back!

Lars said that in Houston - his POE - they asked him how my mother was doing!

Anyway - he is here and we are getting married on Tuesday and filing the AOS Wednesday.

congrats missy!!! so happy for all my family moving ahead in this journey....just stopping by to say hi ..

I don't quite understand what you are asking - it's okay to be over the minimum requirements. In fact, that's good. Did I misunderstand?

hello! missy, i ask for an employment letter from my boss and it is stated there that my pay is just 4$ per hour plus gratuities but on my income tax transcript i make about 30 thousand annual income. i feel that my rate per hour might just be small. what would really matter, is it the rate per hour or the one stated on the income tax???

Stephen and others,

I need some advice. My husband and I are finishing all of the paperwork for AOS. He just had a physical in Juarez last month to get his K1. The ONLY Civil Surgeon within hours of our home said that he will not fill out the Form I-693 unless he can perform another physical. We said that Roberto doesn't need another physical he just needs a few vaccines. I read on VJ that we don't need a new physical. I also called USCIS and they said that I don't need a new physical. Roberto went today to the doctor and they gave him the shots he is missing and they took blood. They told him to return on Thursday for the exam and the results. They are charging him over $300.00. I plan to go with him when he returns on Thursday. What can I say or what can I take with me to convince the doctor that Roberto does not need a new physical but to please fill out Form I-693.

Sorry im guessing a little here 'cause you are ahead of most of us in this process. did you make a copy of his vaccinations he got b4 the interview? if so i would take it with you. i know ive seen this type of concern b4 here on vj so just go to the AOS section and go to the bottom of the page and type in the search bar key words like - already been vaccinated or another physical or civil surgeon said - but thats the way i found out most of my concerns here. or just ask in the AOS forum. sorry i cant help much 'cause your already ahead of us in the process mari joe

Thanks Mari Joe,

He does have a copy of the vaccines and they do not intend to administer more vaccines. They only gave him the three he was missing. What they do insist upon is giving him another full physical and charging him for it even though he just had one with a civil surgeon in Juarez Mexico. I'll looking through AOS forums to see if I can find an answer.

Hey, sorry I missed this when you initially directed it to me. Things have been a bit crazy lately!

I don't quite understand what you are asking - it's okay to be over the minimum requirements. In fact, that's good. Did I misunderstand?

First of all, understand that the employment letter is optional. You don't need to include it, and in this case you may not want to.

That being said, do you have some kind of documentation that shows your current income level? Are your gratuities reported on your pay stubs? If so, then the year-to-date income on the stubs should provide adequate support for the annual income you claim on the I-134. If not, you may need to consider getting a letter from your bank showing the total amount you've deposited over the past 12 months.

Your last year's income tax transcript is important, but by itself it doesn't prove current income. Again, I would consider using pay stubs (if they show sufficient income, i.e., including your gratuities) and/or a bank letter.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

gerrymeridamx, I'd advise finding another civil surgeon. If you can't find one locally who will transcribe the vaccinations and sign off on the I-693 for a reasonable fee, there's a doctor in Texas who will do it for about $30. I can't remember the details, but I'm sure you'll be able to find them in the AOS forum - look in the I-693 sticky thread at the top of the forum.

Married yesterday and in New Orleans for the honeymoon!! Let me just say that it's as wonderful as I thought it would be, I have never been this happy! We sent the AOS package off this morning and have an INFOPASS appointment on Monday, November 30th to apply for expedited Advance Parole. I was just as anxious sending that package off as I was the first one!

Lars' son will be here with all of my family for Thanksgiving and we are excited about that too.

Interesting thing has happened to us though - after months and months of waiting and stressing and building up to THE moment, we were driving to NEw Orleans yesterday afternoon and we were exhausted! I told him I felt like a balloon that had all the air let out of it. The relief, the happiness and joy, and just the whole "it's finally done" -we were so tired!

Richard and Joanna, take care and let us know how things are going. Stephen and Elisha - still next Wednesday?

Everyone - hugs to all!
