Good morning March family! I saw a lot of new approvals but more timeline craziness. My timeline has moved back to July 19th!! I still think it will pick up again (at least I hope it does!).

So, what's cooking with all of ya'll today? Lots of good things happening? Rates are stable, Jim Cramer said that we've hit the bottom and are on the way back up and everyone needs to go buy a house RIGHT NOW and Dave Ramsey said pretty much the same thing this morning on Fox....what more could I ask for? Oh....wait....Dear President Obama, please ask everyone in Mississippi to buy a house today......

Missy,

I have to agree with you. The average # of days currently is increasing as the VSC is approving older petitions which of course makes the average go higher. Over the long haul (which I consider me to be in since I am a March filer) the average will smooth out. The crystal ball maintains it's position. :)

As for what's cooking... I have some Jerk Pork Chops marinating for the grill tonight, topped with a pineapple, mango, avocado salsa and coconut rice. You're welcome to come!

If I lived even a little bit closer, I'd be there!

My oldest sone graduated from culinary school, my youngest son is going to culinary school and they learned to love cooking from me but.....living alone again and working the hours I do, it's difficult to find time to get creative like that and I miss it! But, for tonight, I am happy to report that I had some wild salmon in the freezer and am marinating that for the grill, wish I had some of that salsa and coconut rice......BIG SIGH!

AmyStan, Strega, Melanne, the rest of you guys.....what's for dinner??

Missy, I don't have the time that I used to have either. I have found short cuts (which a few years ago I couldn't imagine using) which have allowed me to still cook fun and delicious food about half the time... the other half I eat the left overs. :) I am still trying to rearrange my schedule (or habit) to allow for more... but ya know it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

Hi everyone! Missy, I will probably have the usual - chicken pot pie from the microwave. I actually can cook, but cooking for myself seems like a waste. If I hadn't found Amy, I'd probably be proposing to Marie Callender.........

Here's hoping for a great day today!

I am in love with Uncle Ben!! I understand, I don't do that much cooking right now. The year we lived in Sweden......I cooked and cooked and cooked and we ate and ate and ate....

Hey Richard, it's not like I'm obsessing over this or anything like that, not at all...but

I was looking at the older people waiting for approval and here is what I found:

#'s 24, 69, and 115 already have been approved they just haven't updated their timeline.

#'s 4 and 5 are duplicates

#'s 94 and 95 are duplicates

#84 was withdrawn

I stopped when I got to December - those are now being approved and I am sure they are all watching their timelines more than we are! Did you know this and how will it affect YOUR list? I wonder how it will affect Igor's list.....what do you think?

Missy, I have taken into account the duplicates and have factored some of the long overdue petitions to smooth the numbers a little. I also removed the expedites as they skew the numbers a little. I think the short answer is yes, these will change the crystal ball list somewhat, but since I designed this spreadsheet as more of a time killer and to help understand the numbers better I don't think it will change anything dramatically. I did not know about the ones that were approved but hadn't updated things yet or the withdrawal. But, I don't think it will effect much either... but I will take a look and see what happens.

Thanks! I'm a little embarassed that I have sat this morning and clicked all of those little buttons and then made a list.....I can't help it.

Missy,

Also, the real driver in my numbers is the short term trend of approvals then laid over the near term petitions. This means that the Crystal Ball date will more more dramatically than Igor's but I am hopeful that it will get a more accurate approval date. In the end it is just a guess, like ALL Crystal Ball requests. What I mean by short term trends... for example we were at 98 days and are currently at 114, we were 111 just a few days ago. The number of days have much bigger swings in my spreadsheet which means our target date also swings more... but I have found in life (at least in the market) short term trends applied to short term items, makes more sense to me to look at things like this. The sad part is, if history is any guide, is that 50% of March should get approved reasonably close to the crystal ball date, the other 50% will wait longer and the truly sad part is that some, up to 15% or so, will wait MUCH longer...
