Called the Congressman's aid that handles the immigration stuff... and she has not yet heard back from her liaison at the USICS who was out of the office last week.... grumble!

do you think we are going to be like NatPenBen or Wendy&Gregor.....still keeping this room alive in November, cheering because everyone's getting married, except me and you? If that's the case, I'm moving to Atlanta and buying a house next door to you so I can have some company!

God, I sure hope not... not that I wont cheer on the others or that I wouldnt want you as a neighbor :)

I'll still be here in November waiting for the interview. We have zero chance of getting it before then. But if we're neighbors, share some of the sprinkler with me. My water bill is outrageous.

And to whomever was saying VSC has "a thing" for the Philippines, I say no way - that'd mean they have excellent taste, which obviously they do not.

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

Phillipines is slow on the interviews as well? I know Canada is horrible.....people waiting 3-4 months before even getting scheduled.

Not slow in general, we're stuck waiting for more medical clearance to be done. I'm engaged to Typhoid Amy.

That was a JOKE

Yes, 8 weeks starting Friday when she finishes giving samples. I've had to wake her yesterday and today (and again tomorrow) at 3a so she can get to the clinic on time. A pain - too true. In a way it sucks because there is no hope for it to come faster. On the other hand, I don't know how everyone can stand the not knowing while the case is still with VSC. So I don't know which is worse, to be honest.

I think not knowing is worse. What kills me is first not knowing when the NOA2 will come and then again turning around and not knowing when the interview will take place.

Well in my case I wrote my congressman (faxed him a letter) first a few weeks ago and have yet to hear anything from him. I tried follow up calls and e-mails to no avail. Last week, after feeling frustrated with my congressman, I faxed my senator bascially the same letter. I sent the fax to him on the 26th of August. Yesterday, the 1st, I got a letter from him dated the 27th via snail-mail saying that he had contacted USCIS and that he would write me again as soon as he received a response from them. We got approved on the 31st! I don't know for sure but I have a feeling that it was probably the result of writing my senator that we were approved. It seemed as if we, along with alot of other filers from March, had gotten passed over, but now suddenly we are approved finally after 179 days. Here is the letter I sent:

"Dear Senator Cornyn:

I am writing to ask you to interact with the USCIS on my behalf in the case of my K-1 visa petition. As you can see, my petition was filed over 5 months ago and the VSC is now showing a 5 month processing time frame (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do). I am signed up with the USCIS website for online and e-mail updates but absolutely nothing has happened since the March 5th receipt acknowledgement. Communication with the VSC seems to be impossible and I am frustrated beyond belief. I believe we furnished them with every piece of required information and the fact that they have not asked for any further information reinforces this opinion in my mind.

If you would, at your earliest convenience, use the power of your office to investigate what is going on with my case and compel the USCIS to approve my petition or to provide a reason why they haven’t done so within their posted time frame I would very much appreciate it. Will you also please keep me informed as to what is occurring? The waiting and not knowing is really almost unbearable. '...personal portion deleted...' Between that and the visits (hard to go more than three months without seeing each other, not to mention being away from each other day after day after day) I am expending money that wouldn’t be necessary if the USCIS would stop dragging their heels and approve this petition or at least communicate with me. They were very expeditious in cashing my $455 check.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and I am very hopeful that you will help me in this matter.

Sincerely"

Good luck and hope this can be of some help to you. "I feel your pain (no tongue in cheek)."

I had also included this reference at the beginning of the letter:

"Ref: K-1 visa petition (I129F) filed with the Vermont Service Center of the USCIS on 3/5/09, receipt #EAC..., for my fiancé/beneficiary..."

lenaandbilly, great letter! And congrats on your approval!

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Thanks Majid and Anna. Yea I hope you don't have to use it as well but if you do wind up needing it you are more than welcome to it. I just hope to be of some help if I can, I know how frustrated I was just a few days ago. That one simple e-mail from USCIS put the wind back in our sails.
