Ok... so here ya go...

Spoke to a very polite young woman by the name of Chastity... how could not provide ANY info... other than what is on the website and refused to put in a service request since they are currently processing March 5th files. grrrrrrrrrrrr... Said ok... Chastity, please connect me to the an officer at the USCIS which she was reluctant but ultimately did do.

Spoke to an Officer at the USCIS how asked me a bunch more information... pulled up the file and said that I was still inside the processing time line. I told this officer that according to the press release dated August 6th 2009, at 5 months 1 day that I was within my rights to submit a service request. The officer did not argue and filed a service request and gave me a referral number. After completing the referral, he said that it generally takes 2 weeks for a response and asked if there was anything else he could do. To which I said, sure, if you dont mind me venting.... I went over the appearance of all the April approvals, blah, blah, blah... he didn't have any insight as to why and said that the 5 month time line was in his opinion highly optimist....

Bottom line... I got no real insight but was allowed to enter a service request.

I feel slightly better... but am not holding my breath..

Arabella... CALL them and do the same... :)

I'm glad you feel better and I agree - Arabella, CALL DAMMIT!!

If it takes two weeks for a service request, surely you will have heard something before then, right???? Maybe it's time to start nagging the senators in your state again. This is the most frustrating and aggravating, ulcer causing experience EVER!!!

Um, what exactly do yo usay when you call a senator? I feel pretty intimidated about going that far up the food chain.

I went to both Senator Roger Wicker and Senator Thad Cochran's websites and found links to the services that they provide their constituents and in that list is Immigration Help or some wording to that effect. I clicked that link, filled out the Release form that was there and emailed it (printed and faxed to Cochran's office, emailed to wicker's office) and then I called and talked to the Liason that handles that. They have always been VERY NICE. It depends on your state as to how effective they are. Do it!!!

03/26/09 : NOA1

09/23/09 : NOA2

11/13/09 : APPROVED and visa in hand!!!

Ok I could do an online thing- that sounds harmless. I live in Florida, so I am thinking that they probaly get a lot of these. . .

I'm gonna go all "Mommy" on you right now. Girl, you are marrying someone from Canada! You entered into a long distance relationship, one of the hardest things ever! You were brave enough to do that, you can certainly call USCIS and your senator's office! You be aggressive!! Get on the phone and call your Senator's office. That is what they are there for! You will feel better after you call the senators. I felt great for an entire month after I talked to them. They made me believe that my situatuion was unique and special and they couldn't wait to help me, and I believed it! It didn't matter that I really knew better. They listened to everything I had to say, allowed me to call multiple times a day, every day, gave me their email addresses and we still exchange emails, got one this morning asking how I am doing. It didn't matter to me that it didn't help any - I felt like they were helping and it felt good! Last week, when they found out about the RFE, they even faxed the missing documents in for me. Again, it didn't do any good but it made me feel better. CALL THEM!!!

EDIT

I really should proof read! I just re-read this and it sounds slightly retarded. I hope you know what I am trying to say. I called the Senators and even though it didn't help for my expedite, it did make me feel like I was doing something pro-active. That's what helped and they were extremely sympathetic to my situation and THAT helped.

I read on VJ all of the time about people calling senators offices and two days later they have an approval. I believe that some do really help but you won't know until you try. That's what I'm trying to say. That, and also that you are beautiful and strong and shouldn't be intimidated by anyone or anything. We have survived the dreaded Long Distance Relationship - if we can do that, we can do ANYTHING!

(and I am old enough to be your mother, that's why I had to go "mommy" on you)

Yesterday was the last day of Thom here in Mexico and in my home, now I'm wondering how long is gonna take to see each other again... Is amazing can feel his arms hugging me, yesterday when I let him in the Airport and we say good bye I got this horrible feeling of sadness...

Today is a new day and I back to the reality, life goes on, so I'm starting living my life as the usual...missing him and he is like me...

After all this drama...lol... I wanted say hi guys and tell you I hope you all get finally your NOA2 (Richard, Degard, Stephen...my beautiful and amazing friends) all you guys of my March family, I'll be praying and crossing my fingers to see you happy Brothers and Sisters...

I'm still on the journey, this week we going to send the papers, this last weekend we got together all our evidence, we going to make the motion and wait for indications of the USCIS... if they still say we have to appeal, if they say our option is appeal then we going to refile... any way...

Love you guys!

I went to the website for Florida Senators and I found mine (hey I even recognized his name lol!). But there isn't any "form" like what Missy found for requesting helpo with immigration. I don't know guys. I want someone to look at my case but we aren't even officially 30 days past due now so I don't know that anyone would take me seriously. . .

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while - been pretty crazy. I've started to add a comment or two, but I feel almost guilty since we got our NOA2 and so many others are waiting. Crazy to feel that way, I know. Nevertheless....

Just an update on us and how post-NOA2 has been so far. NVC got our paperwork last Monday and sent it to the embassy on Tuesday (8/18). I waited to call until 8/19 and it was already through. Calling NVC was painless except the number was busy a lot so it took a while to get through. Once connected, very fast and efficient. They gave me the Case Number assigned (see below) but I also got a copy in the mail from NVC on Saturday with that information.

I've tracked what I believe is our package from NVC using the link http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef I entered "EXP 18 AUG 2009A" as the reference and chose dates to/from of 8/17 and 8/19. It's documented elsewhere on how to do this, but if you need any assistance, send me a PM and I'd be happy to assist. Anyway, it looks like the package is in Manila now, but hasn't been signed for at the embassy.

Amy has her medical tomorrow. For Manila, it's first-come, first-serve. So all she needed was the print of the NOA2 notification email and the Case Number assigned by NVC (not the EAC number from VSC), along with passport photos.

We hope everyone from March gets approved soonest. My sprinklers are on right now and my pom-poms are out. Hang in there and let me know if I can be of any help. And be ready - as others have said, things happen fast once this step is done.

So glad to hear from you Stan! It's been a little while, hasn't it? :P Yep it sure does seem like things are going quickly for you now. We're all hoping that Amy won't have any issues with her Medical and no delays will follow! You'll be together so soon! Amazing the difference of waiting for the NOA2 and just a short while after...it's barely comparable.

Also, I received the Approval Notice this morning both in my email and updated on the USCIS Website.
