So what are yall most excited to show or do with your fiancee/fiance here in America?

I'm like obviously excited to introduce her to all my friends and family here, and show her our home. But what else you think would be cool to do with your fiancee when they get here?

I'm wondering all that they will find strange, cool, interesting here once they get to the Usa.

I know traffic, driving, roads, are so much diffrent here then in the PI.. waaah.. was crazy over there I tell ya.

Guess there are alot of restraunts to try here that she hadn't ever been too.

Id like to take her to one of these theme parks sometime (Universal Studios!), but that would be later down the road (haha alot to take care of in the present.).

i am very excited to introduce her to my family and friends and show her her future home with me. also want to take her to beautiful places here in orlando. yah ur right, everything is different here that in the PI, i know there would be some adjustment on her part but i will always be by her side and helping her adjust in everything. the most part that i could'nt wait is to marry her and make her my wife.

hey! did you try tracking ur receipt number on the uscis website??? we try to do that but it has never been touch...

That is a 64,000 dollar question with a very complex answer overall. Being an 'old fart', although there are many things that I would want my SO to experience. I think for us, it is more a question of getting settled and getting comfortable with such drastic change. Getting the kids settled and in school, teaching them English and remembering that this is a pretty big life change for everyone and taking things a little on the slow side so as to not overwhelm anyone. Meeting family and friends is certainly one I would like to do. I think my SO is also focused on getting a job and settling in more than anything else. I am reminded of the old adage "How do you eat an Elephant?" :)

Hello to all!

Yeah!!! This Vermont thing is starting to look so much better

As I lived in New York for about 8 months with my fiancé I would say that it is very important to give time for the another half who is moving from another country just to adjust to the new surroundings... It´s a huge change, all the things you have in USA compared to what other cultures have in the world....BIG, BIG things!

I was at first of course totally, positively amazed what there is to offer to new peopple. But then I started missing the old things back in Finland, it was still the place my heart was. So I had this inner fighting about what to like about and hate in the new country. It was hard for me and I really made it hard for my fiancé too. And especially when there are children and separation envolved it´s going to make things even harder...

I guess if you take things slower it can make the change a little easier to bare....

In New York, and i guess almost in any where in the USA now, the good thing with the language is that there can be found a lots of peopple who speak even worse English than you do. So the language barrier will not be a great problem for most of us. And even my son learnt English just by listening kids´ tv there. Seems like the change could be easier for children that it is for adults..... They are always so positive, open and strong with new thigs in life.

So lets keep hoping good winds for Vermont!

good thought Jenny, thank you... the adjustment and what falls from that is probably my biggest concern. When I say concern, I don't mean I am too worried about it but I would like to make it as easy as possible, alas, much of it I have no control over and I just have to be loving and patient I guess... at least from what I have read and what my SO and I have talked about.

A flurry of approvals at the end on the month and then on May 1st... not one that has been posted yet. I do so hope that the trend continues and this wasn't an adoration for some quota or something and then they go back to being slow again. For me, it is rather strange. My SO can't come here until after school lets out in June, so I have time to be patient regardless of a NOA2... but I still want it NOW :)

Good morning everyone! Over in the Phils thread they have posted "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" and I love looking at all of their happy faces. So.....I'll go first! I'll show you mine......

We are extremely blessed - we have 4 children between us, ages 20, 22, 22 and 25. We've never managed to have everyone in the same place at one time but we've had a lot of different combinations and somehow, they have all managed to spend a lot of time with each other and with us. So....(drum roll please) in no particular order - Missy, Lars, Andy (25), Maggie (22), Allan (22) and Michael (20)!

THANKS! I don't mind you saying at all. My family has all remarked about the difference in me when we are together vs. when we are apart. I feel so happy, and serene is the perfect word.

No....I guess what I wrote was a little misleading. We decided to meet there - he flew into New Orleans and I drove down and picked him up at the airport and we spent a week there and then a week here in Jackson before he flew back to Romania where he was living/working at that time. It is our FAVORITE city though. We live about 2.5 hours away so we go as often as we can. Do you still live there now? That's probably going to be our POE, either there or Memphis.
