We have had almost everything we need for the interview since we filed the K1. We are only lacking the medical (which in Poland, i believe we have to wait for the Embassy, but still checking in on that) and my taxes for the I-134... So, I am working on my taxes now, I had to file an extension.

On the upside... Since my SO was granted a b1/b2 visa last week, we are planning on her coming to the states in June... So I am making plane reservations and cruise reservations this week. Now I have something definitive to look forward too. That always makes me feel better, so much better than just knowing SOMEDAY!

That's excellent, Richard. Keep us updated with your plans, and of course we'll want to hear a post-visit report  . That will indeed make the wait easier for you.

We too have everything prepared for the next step, other than things which are time-sensitive and need a recent date when she gets to the USEM.

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

Hey Joe,

Somehow it is nice to know there is another local going through this process.... I am not sure why. :)

I live in Marietta... work around 400 and 285 area.

The pic of the Ostrich was sent to me by my SO.. I thought it was cute and kind of looked like me, so I posted it.... You can photoshop (or similar) your large photos (decrease size in pixels) to upload here.

Richard

Hello everyone,

I'm also at ATL, and even tough we are not applying for the same country, i'm glad i;m not the only one.

I tend to think what if they put "BUT" to my application because of my country or hwat if they delay it because i'm in ATL, and they might not get too many applications from this area..

I know I'm a little paranoic but after reading many discussions plus being anxious to have my fiancee with me, i think eberyone can understand.

ciao, can anyone tell me what paperwork and documents are needed when the noa2 form arrives? also what other documents should my beneficiary start getting together for the rest of the process? I dont want him to arrive here and then find out he needs more documents. i was looking over also the ds 156k form (dont know when or who files that) and saw they need evidence of engagement. what kind of evidence??? we are going to get married at the courthouse as soon as he gets here and i will schedule the day once i know the day he will get here.............uuuffaaaaaaaaaa, whats a girl to do :luv:

DS156, DS156k, DS157 (possibly), I134 (inc. tax returns & w2s), pics, proof of ongoing relationship, police record, medical form, medical exam results, passport, birth certificate, passport photos, certificate of no impediment to marriage (possibly).

These aren't required for the process, but might be useful once your fiance arrives: high school/college diplomas, letter of recommendation from employer.

Check the US Embassy you will be going through as each embassy is a little different. Most all I think require, the police certificate, original birth certificates (long form), affidavit of support (most on the I134 form), passport, military record (if any), photographs, EVIDENCE of relationship, Divorce decree (if any) and the medical... I dont think I have missed anything... but do check.

The bigger question, at least for me... is what to bring when when our SO gets here... because for mine, she will not be going back to Poland anytime soon... so there are things she would need to bring to get settled her... e.g. driver's license or international dl, birth certs as they are often needed here to get things... I am preparing that list now... will let you know what I think of...

Everyone's feedback is welcome to make sure I don't forget anything.

Richard

Wondering:

My lawyer told us we need to send in my (I'm the petitioner, US citizen) tax records with the the I-129F (pre-NOA2). But looking at the requirement list on visa journey where it says 'I-129F check list', it doesn't say taxes are required.

Did anyone else send in their tax records? I'm just wondering because it's hard to get a straight answer from my lawyer sometimes and it's beyond frustrating. I went to a lot of trouble to get him my tax records which ended up delaying the date we sent in our application.

.

Just curious is anyone else sent in their tax records BEFORE receiving NOA2

I didn't send tax records with my I-129F. As I understand it, that's only needed at the USEM for the interview, along with the affidavit of support.

from what i understand, the tax returns are for the 1134 AOS so they can see if you make enough to support the beneficiary, i didnt send in my tax returns with the 1129f

From what I can read now and from other people's replies, the tax returns were not necessary to send in. Why would my lawyer have sent them in? I have emailed him and he won't reply. I was trusting him that he knew what he was doing. Will the USCIS hold it against me that he sent in my tax forms?
