I called NVC today and our case has been chosen for AP (additional processing). It has been there since Aug 3rd. The automated info line doesn't have a record of our case at all so I spoke with a person. I saw in another forum that this is common but that it can take up to six weeks. I guess this means our plans might be changing. I was silly enough to set a tentative wedding date of Oct 17th. This process is so stressful.

All the touches - Got the RFE email this morning. The good news is I know what they want and has suspected this might happen, and the better news is I had already sent in the documents via my Senator, in June. Called the Senator's office this morning to see if they would follow up for me and try to circumvent this RFE but - if we can't, I have the FedEx ready to go out as soon as the snail mail version gets here.

This is going to sound retarded but....I was just excited that I made it to someone's desk and something was done!!!

03/26/09 : NOA1

09/23/09 : NOA2

11/13/09 : APPROVED and visa in hand!!!

most of the February people that hit AP at the NVC only took a week or so... so maybe... you will still be ok!!

Missy... sorry for the RFE.. but it doesnt sound retarded to me... I would also be glad that a real live human was working on the file! Hopefully your Senator can help out and speed it up... although, with the fedx ready... maybe only another 10 days 2 weeks?

I hope so. I feel optimistic about it all right now - my estimated approval wasn't until next week anyway so as I see things, I am still a little bit ahead of the game so far. You cannot believe how my stress level dropped, immediately. I saw the email from CRIS, opened it and just felt relieved that I had made it to this step in the process. Now I can focus on getting that done and cheering on everyone else as the approvals come raining in!!

Bummer about the RFE but sounds like you're right on top of it so hopefully it'll be cleared up fast and you'll get that approval soon!

Oh Richard, that is good news. I sure hope it goes as quickly as those did in Feb. I dread telling Roberto so much because we assumed it would already be in Juarez. I guess I'll just call every few days until it leaves NVC.

Missy :( Im so sorry. I have to say your attitude is incredible. You always brighten this forum up. Hang in there!
