Between you, and the half-ton dad and half-ton teenager I saw on TLC last night I'm convinced.

####### ? Are you serious ?

Oh yeah. If you get a chance to watch that program- Its called "Half Ton Dad" it is worth a watch. Unbelievable. One thing I didn't know was that over 60% of the residents of Texas are obese! 60%!! Doctors on the program said 30 years ago it was extremely rare to see someone come in weighing over 300 pounds, but now they've got these patients who are 1000 pounds!

The Dad and teen were unrelated by the way. The teen was only 800 pounds and he could actually still walk.

I can understand someone being up to 30lb's or so overweight - but how does one get to be 700lb's overweight? That's just frickin' insane!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

According to the Doctors, it has a lot to do with McDonald's and KFC.

I think it's safe to say its a form of addiction and once they reach the point where they cant get out of bed, but dont change their eating habits; of course they just gain and gain and gain until one day they have a TLC camera in their face and everyone is talking about them on a message board.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I have never, ever been overweight in my life. I was severely anorexic until two years ago. These days, I have that certain "coke bottle" look that certain older, fatter men desire in their wimmins. :P

It's never good enough. It wasn't good enough when I was 5'5" and 70 lbs of nothing. It's still not good enough at 5'5" and 100 lbs of perfect body.

It's never good enough. Trust me.

Move to Vietnam! I know I've sweated off at least 10 punds in 10 days. The diet here helps a lot too.

I sure would because I don't eat Asian food. But I'm moving to Egypt next month, so I'm hoping that will get off the last 20. I buttoned a pair of pants that I hadn't worn since 2001 yesterday so that lifted my spirits.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

True, but how does one afford to eat that much?

that is a lot of food...and sometimes on those shows, it is revealed that a person spends $35 a night on food just for dinner...

I think what a previous poster said is true. It takes a while for you to realize the new body you have (if you ever do). I had lost a lot of weight, and everyone commented how skinny I was (even people I just met and never knew I had been overweight - they just assume I am "naturally skinny" What a joke). Even my kids kept saying I was too skinny. But me? No way! All I could see was the remaing 5 pounds I wanted to lose or the remaining pockets of fat that only I could see. I had to learn to be happy with the way other people saw me before I drove myself insane! Even now, a few years later, I'm always still trying to lose weight, never happy, but I'm happy that everyone else thinks I look great! :-)

on one of those shows the guy took out a second mortgage on his house for renovations and ended up spending all the money on food :o

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
