hi everyone, i notice that you should provide recently pay stubs at the interview. however, i work for a local convenience store and the owner pay me by business check every week. would it be fine if i make photocopy of the checks and submit them at the interview?

The business check should have stubs that you can use, if you don't have them, then submit photocopies with an explaination of why you don't have the pay statements.

Most likely, you are not his employee otherwise just business checks are not sufficient enough proof of employment. Ask you employer’s accountant (if any) to give you monthly pay statements that shows your federal, state, social security deductions, etc.

You can ask your owner to write a letter that you are working in His store and earning this much $ every month or year. And along with that you can submit a photocopy of Checks and bank statements.

I also have direct deposit and from my employer I receive e-mail notification about direct deposit and pay statement. They use to send it before by regular mail at my home address.

You should request it from HR or payroll department.

Usually direct deposits still has check stubs that break down how much tax and everything is taken out of your pay.
