Yeah, you are right, but I hope sooooooo much it won't be! I went back due to my mom having a surgery and I brough the paperwork, but it's not translated (they wanted an obscene amount of money to translate it because of all the medical terminology). So, I will translate if they need me to (to a point, of course).

N400: D/O - Las Vegas, NV

10/10/08 : N-400 Mailed to CSC.

10/13/08 : N-400 received

10/16/08 : money order presented for payment

10/20/08 : NOA received ; case transferred to NBC

10/16/08 : date of notice

10/14/08 : priority date

10/27/08 : FP Notification received

11/13/08 : scheduled for FP and done

01/21/09 : IL received

03/23/09 : Interview scheduled and completed successfully!

Happy and waiting for oath letter- 4 to 6 weeks according to the IO........

04/11/09 : Received Oath letter (scheduled for May 1)

05/01/09 : Took oath!! A very special day for me and my family!

Out of the country may be a problem.

"Since I was out of the country for 2 months since my biomentrics"

Unless the OP is getting close to having had a total of 18 months out of the country within the past three years (all in periods of less than 6 months), the above trip will not be an issue at all. I had a five month trip out of the country between biometrics & interview - it was not even specifically mentioned.

N400 at California SC, Field office- Los Angeles

Sep 3, 2007 Application Mailed

Sep 12, 2007 - Priority date

Nov 9,2007 - check cashed

Nov 20,2007 - NOA1: "expect to be notified within 425 days of this notice",

Jan 10, 2008 - fingerprints appointment (letter lost due to mailing address receipted incorrectly)

Feb 7, 2008 - fingerprints done (took about 10 min - as a walk-in)

Sept 8, 2008 - Interview date (letter received Jul 18) - rescheduled at my request

Jan 6, 2009 - Interview date

Feb 26, 2009 - Citizenship Oath

*online status "case received Oct 29", no touches showing.

Sorry I did not express myself clearly. My first trip was a little over 5 months- last year for my mom's surgery. When I came back I applied for naturalization, and a couple of months later I had to go back for another 2 months. That is why NickD is saying that it might be an issue. Hopefully, it won't be. Other than that I have trips of a month each year to my home country (three years in a row), and that's it. Thank you, AusCal for sharing your experience with your trip-let's hope mine won't be a problem either. And thanks everybody for their advice! You more than anybody know how anxious a person feels when the interview is approaching :wacko: (and I haven't even started reading the questions yet :unsure: ).
