Not sure what happened to my wife, maybe she was hit by lightning, but has a white streak running from the center of her forehead back to her neck. Told her I wouldn't dump her if she didn't color her hair, but she is conscientious about it. Actually think that white streak is sexy, but what do men know.

She has been using L'OReal with good results ever since I have known her, it does have all the precautions on the side of the box that would scare anyone to death to use it. But this last time, she developed a very nasty rash on the back of her neck and the tops of her ears look raw. Only rashes I have seen like that were caused from acid burns. Also has some rash on her upper arms and back, but not nearly as bad, barely noticeable. Does say on the box that an allergy can develop at any time.

She talked to her dermatologist this morning and he just gave her this site:

In German, and I am lost, just hoping some nice lady would share her experiences with this product. Thank you.

Some hair coloring products create harsh allergic reactions. And, since you towel-dry your hair AND your body, the thing spreads awful. Happened to me once. Since then, what I do is use henna for coloring my hair.

Remember, you are talking to an idiot on this subject, is Henna a brand name and available locally? Thank you for the reply.

Dear idiot (kidding), ;)

Henna is a plant --- you can certainly buy it at an Indian or Egyptian market. i suggest your wife googles "Indian hair salons" for that service in your area.

I remember Bren told me exactly the name of the chemical compund that causes the allergy, but I cannot remember and the dude is not in Seattle this week

I have never heard of this Elumen thing. Let me see if I can find anything.

PPD is what I have found on the net, paraphenylenediamine, also learned her product contains it.

This site shows a photo of that can of rash, and looks very similar to the one on the back of her neck.

One can also have an allergic reaction to henna. Likewise if the streak is larger, it might wind up pink. I henna my hair (or did for years until recently) and just mixed indigo with the henna to give me chestnut results.
