Alli, let me know the date and I may be able to swing it. Especially if it is far enough in advance. Let's try and not get too close to Ramadan or when school is just starting if we can avoid it. I love the Smoky's and some of the Chalet's are to die for. There is so much to do there outlet shopping, restaurants and such. We wanted to get married there but we didn't have the money and time like we had planned. I'm so excited...so so so excited. Heck even if hubster can't come, I'm coming!!!! He will if where ever he is working will allow him. He's always up for a good time!

I like K's idea too about DC but honestly know nothing about it. I went there in 8th grade but that was 20 years ago!

We are trying to get Hicham home to visit his family during the summer, so we don't know yet the exact date. Probably will in a couple of weeks.

Gatlinburg would be good if we want to spend more time together, like renting a house

OR

DC would be good if we want to "do" more vacation-like stuff.

So how about when you post your reply, you could vote like this:

Gatlinburg: 1

DC: 0

June: 1

July: 0

August: 0

That way we can keep track of what the majority pick is.

I'm really excited about this!!!!!

Really sounds fun but I know nothing about the area.

I'm up for it depending on our situation with my dad at that time.

Inshallah Nawal, your dad will be doing well. (F)

Like Alli said inshallah everything will be ok with dad Annie.

It would be so great to finally meet everybody. I really would love a girls weekend sometime but have to work it in my budget and find somebody to keep Malek for me if hubby is working.

We could do either - Y and I will be kidlet-less this summer as they will each be with grandparents (so sad!) so a road trip is def. doable!

Obviously I live in DC so no issue there LOL. Gatlinburg sounds fun too. - I vote for either

July - good

August- beginning of the month

April 3, 2010 - Biometrics

May 17,2010 - Citizenship Test - Minneapolis, MN

You're not in the minority...I'd love a girl's weekend!

I could probably drag the mister along but he'd most likely not want to be involved with any VJ activities unless I really tried hard to talk him into it. Or unless the girls and guys split up and did their own thing. Not that he has anything against you ladies but he's been stuck hanging out with mostly me all the time and he'd probably enjoy some male company. Plus, I think we'd be too gabby. :)

Late June-possibly

July-most likely anytime

August-would have to be within the first couple weeks

Looks like we are going to try and get Hicham home to his family for the month of July. SO, if it's a "mister" trip, we couldn't do July...BUT....if it's a chick trip...can do anytime during the summer. I'm sure my aunt would keep my kidlet for the weekend if we wanted to be kidless too!

Too many options...isn't it!

Awww cute new pic of your little one, Alli. He's getting to be a big boy!

I can do a kid or kidless trip, too. I could also make it into a family vacay. Yeah, so many options. :)

If everything works out we may be going to Egypt for a couple weeks either the end of Ramadan or for the "big" Eid. I would like to at least get the husband there for one of the eids. He hasn't seen his family in nearly two years and it's starting to wear on him.

Thanks! That's from his new school pics. I swear people think he is four and sometimes five because he is so tall...but my sweet baby will be 3 in just a few days!!!! :crying: He's growing up tooo fast.

We are planning a big birthday party for him this weekend. I think I'm more excited than he is!

I could really do either.

I think the Gatlinburg vaca might be more economical since we could rent a house and split the cost and we could save some money by cooking in the kitchen. Also, if we want to "sit around" and talk in the evenings, this might be easier.

BUT, if the families are going...

DC could be better since there is probably more to do and people could get their own hotel rooms (perhaps we could find the same hotel to stay in). Don't know if this might be more expensive.

I'm really on the fence about just chicks or with misters. I was really surprised actually that Hicham wanted to go and meet some new people. It could be good for our guys to meet each other. On the other hand, like I said before, hard for us to really dish w/ the misters around!

That's why I asked how old the boy was gonna be cuz he looks so grown up in his pics. He does look 4 to me. :)

As much as I think renting one of those chalets in Gatlinburg would be fun, I don't think my husband would go for it. He'd be weirded out sharing a house with ppl he doesn't know. He'd be more up to staying in a hotel.
