Divorce rate maybe be high but fake marriages are also rife

just because you have a HUGE age gap does not mean the marriage is a fraud..Fraud can happen to any aged person be it close in age or larger in age..AS i said before there are no guarantees

Anyone who thinks it is odd ..feel free to see how many of us HAVE large age gaps. There is a support group at agelesslove.com...you are all welcome to come and see:)

Its not as TABOO or wrong as you think...its been going on till the beginning of time and until the END of time.

I can name many older woman who are with younger men as well as older men with younger women WHO are working and have been together a long long time. IT is not as uncommon as we all think. Most keep it quiet because of societys closed minded folks; BUT since the demi moore and others stepping out of the age gap closet..OTHERS are stepping out as well.

Its sad that there are so many judgemental folks in this world. So so sad. I really feel sorry for them.

I dont necessarily mean that fake marriages exist between age gap couples. You said divorce rate is high between couples close in age & I said so are fake marriages...read it again.

not as many as the we are married happy and loving it. the leaving me post is only a small drop in the bucket of marriages falling apart. MOST rush into it without really getting to know the person first. You cant say i love him so much, get married after meeting for 2 weeks then get hitched.

it takes a while to get to know someones kinks and quirks.

ANYWAY not trying to argue just making a point like you are:)

I never would have considered anyone much younger than myself either until I met my husband. He is 20 years younger than me. Sometimes you meet that one person that changes your view point on things. :star:

11-15 years for the ladies, and over 15 for the guys.

My Godfather was 10 years younger than his wife, but if you see the 2 of them together you would have never guess she's older than him. They were married for 38 years before he passed away(RIP). His wife is still around and kicking, age is not too important it's the mindset, they had a wonderful life, something to envy, and they lived well.

Gone but not Forgotten!

oh my... I was happy to see a post like this. But not that happy to read the answers.

I am much older than hubby, and I kind of feel there's a lot of prejudice reading the posts.

I myself would never have imagined falling for someone this young. I never looked for it, and was never attracted to much younger guys. But life sometimes plays tricks on you, you know. And I feel that he gives me more emotionally than any person I dated that was my age. He is truly my soul mate and our conversation is endless. I am happy. What else can I ask for? Would you give that up because of an age difference?

What I am trying to say - try not to have prejudice of other people's relationships... you never know if things could happen to you, you son or someone on your family. It's hard to control when you fall in love.

I had never considered dating or marrying someone so much younger than me (16 years) before meeting my husband. The thing is that people are individuals and are shaped by their life experiences, parents, etc. and innate personality. Some 20somethings are very mature and well-adjusted and a good match for a 40something, other 40-60somethings(like men who see their wives as disposable toys or women who are gold-diggers) have the maturity level of 14 year olds. So in general if you were to ask me would I like to date a 25 year old guy I would say no, but it ultimately depends on the person.
