romania is not considered low risk. i know 2 cute little romanian waitresses here in my little town in south central PA that arrived K1, ditched their intended without marriage, stayed illegal, popped out anchors, and are looking for someone to legitimise their overstay (impossible). if you're interested i can save you the bux and introduce them. they're both attractive ...

seriously, if you two write a bunch of e-mails and take a 1 week vacation together neither of you have any idea of what you are getting.

Oh jeez...........

Nigeria is a country where the embassy is as corrupt as the country. Supposedly if you pay the right amount you can pick your visa type through the back gate. They will also think of the strangest reasons to deny. I know of one man with a degree in math that had been working in an in related management field for 20 years that was denied because he couldn't solve an advanced math problem at his interview. Guess they needed a visa for the back gate.

... I think any country whose per capita income is significantly lower than the US (or was... )

:o

It's just a matter of time till some of those erstwhile 3rd world countries start considering American visa applicants to their territories as "high risk" for fraud.

This will come only when they no longer desire Americans to come to their country and buy goods and services with dollars. I expect it will happen a day or two after hell freezes over.

Romania is NOT a high fraud country, and has a very low denial rate. Interviews are very easy. Since your profile shows Romania, you wouldnt really need to know a list as Romania is NOT on it.

Would Thailand be considered high fraud as well? I just presumed it is, being similar to Vietnam, Philippines, etc.

Asia - they would be looking for red flags...

the scenario wd change pretty soon . I agree to Pushbrk. Soon americans wd immegrate to countries like India as because cheap goog lifestyle with lesser hassle. Then the game will be other way around. The 3rd world concept is about to change and 3rd worlds will no more be 3rd worlds. The hierarchy is changing.

And Bobby_Umit pls stop confusing people by issuing names of countries which are/are not considered fraud. You & me are no USCIS ...so we are in no charge of issuing country names and posting bad reputation in their names. Pls there has been no official list that has been issued. So pls i think VJ shd refrain from confusing people. All people with correct intentions and honesty and bonafide relation & marriage will of course pass. Thanks

I would never plagiarize anyone else's comments out here, so let me give credit to the straight-talking "pushbrk" who commented on my post about "Nigerian Police Certificates. He said that when it comes to fraud the USCIS has four levels:

Low

Medium

High

Lagos (Nigeria)

Considering my fiancée was born there, and just returned from there yesterday, hearing her reports, I completely understand pushbrk's sentiments.

That came from a well respected immigration lawyer who posts on another site. He charges fixed rates, but not for Lagos.

Hahahahah.

I know two Americans, here, who have stolen from a store and had sex with girls and they also push old ladies down stairs. If you've ever wanted to marry an American, that's what you'll get!!!**#U#/U$Z$!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

As for AP people have been mentioning - my fiance and I waited 51 or 52 days (the NVC thread people still can't decide which one it is ;)) to get out. Why? Nobody knows. No criminal records, no records at all, for that matter, pretty uncommon names, no previous marriages, etc. Not even the country I come from is considered high fraud, as pretty much no cases get through the Embassy on a monthly basis (maybe 1-2, if that many). Pretty much nobody ever finds out about reasons of their AP.

If you read my post correctly, you will notice it says it's not official.

It's just what an actual USCIS worker told me.

Also - if you do a standard search on the US State department site, new releases and other sources of material from the State - You will see every one of the countries mentioned by me is considered to be at higher risk of fraud then other countries.

If you dig more into the information releases from the State/FBI/USCIS you will see them pop up more than normal.

My own experience, after reading through all this information, and the posts on this site, lead me to conclusion that the countries I listed are actually listed for "high fraud" for very good reason.

I do not see how anyone would be confused by it.

Yes, if you can pass the "fraud" check, you will not have any problem at all.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Lousy thread? There was a question asked. There has only been one rude comment / violation of TOS in this thread and it was handled. The rest of the posts have been intelligent and well thought out discussion that most certainly will benefit others.

"The MOD" is thinking this is a very important discussion and very much part of the K-1 immigration process that not enough people know about. Even if your SO is not from what we consider a high fraud Country it is still important to understand the process and why it can and does differ in some locations.

Hey its not about all these countries...its about people that are doing fraud, can be any country but of course some of them are more vulnerable to this..People using other people to get what they want, there is everywhere and anytime...Of course cos of these people ,real love and true relationship have to suffer but as long as we have faith ,everything will be fine.
