No one wants to hear they are a sinner, I rekon.

If you don't believe in the notion of sin, being called a sinner is just meaningless.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

"Mobility means your ideas are more challenged and your family and childhood traditions have less influence, particularly if you are not strongly rooted in them. I see kids today who have no vocabulary of faith, and neither do many of their parents."

Harmon recalls, "A couple came into my office once with a yellow pad of their teenage son's questions. One of them was: 'What is that guy doing hanging up there on the plus sign?' "

Wow.

One of the downsides of expecting everyone to move at the whims of work requirements, the 'if you can't find work where you are, go find work where it is' syndrome is the disintegration of traditional communities.

While I am not religious at all, I do at least recognize the importance of cohesive communities. That's not to say that people shouldn't move to find work, but that one should at least realize exactly what that entails, a necessary fragmentation of both families and communities.

If one is lucky, one then moves to a new community that is cohesive and welcomes newcomers - I haven't had a lot of positive experiences in that area.

NickD's post about church buildings reminds me that two churches in this area are in buildings that used to be Pizza Huts.

I just wanted to share that. I don't know why.
