AOS from J-1

Thanks to this site and forum help I am ready to send my AOS papers. Some issues are still unclear, though. I couldn't find the answers in the Guides section, but maybe somebody knows...

1) ... where I should file my papers? I am applying for AOS based on marriage from J1 visa, not K1. Does it mean that I should file to my District office or I have to file to Chicago anyway?

2) ... should I include the check for fingerprinting fee? How much is it? It is mentioned in the AOS Guide on this site, but I couldn't find it in the USCIS instructions for I-485 and there is no mentioning of it on the USCIS page with Immigration Forms and Fees.

3) ... may I file application for Advance Parole concurrently with all the other papers or I have to file it separately via e-mail after I get confirmation that my AOS is in process? There's only e-filing option for AP on the USCIS site, so I wonder if they are going to accept the paper version.

4) ... is there real advantage to apply for Work Permit and AP via e-filing? Less problems? Speedy processing? Some advice from experienced e-filers?

Hope this helps

1) all papers go to the Chicago lockbox

2) yes include biometrics fee it is $70.00

3) yes file for AP and EAD along with your AOS

4) no benefit from e-filing you would still have to send additional evidence by mail.... better for all papers to arrive together....

Just make sure that your J1 visa does not have a two year home residency attached to it.
