Now that all the people who started these threads in the recent past have been approved, it is time to pass the baton to the next batch waiting for their approvals. Time to continue the tradition that Narina started (and which has worked really well for us so far) of hoping for NO touches and NO approvals this week. VSC - you can hang on to my applications for as long as you like. Don't even think of approving them this week, next week or EVER !

Way to go RooDee. :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I was suspicious that they wouldnt meet their "feb 2009" goal. But I really think they did! It's great that they are keeping it up, especially for us wives of muslim men who tend to get stuck no matter what :(

Praying, God please keep us safe from AP, Narina had it at VSC, I had it at NVC. :fingers, toes and eyes crossed:

Im so happy that many couples have finally gotten their visas after year+ wait times.

My theory:

I've told Narina, but anyone else who cares to hear it

VSC actually does their namechecks at their level before adjudication. CSC, does not. This is why they get approved so fast and tend to get stuck in AP post interview. I would much rather have our wait BEFORE the interview, rather than knowing we are approved but with a black hole of nothingness to look forward to.

Hmmm, this gives me an idea. I think I'll see the "waiting AP" thread and check out the service centers.

Im babbling again, arent I?

That is a very interesting theory, too bad there isn't a place on VJ that captures folks who have been put on AP. We could then poke around the data :)

Yep, USCIS told me that Vermont does the checking before the approvals. thats good for me. My husband carries a fire arm for his job so I wasn't worried and I think it depends on each country and how fast they can get a response.

It kind of makes sense now too becuz Costa Rica is famous for "waiting in line" for EVERYTHING !!! They take their freakin' time for everything. Very laid back. I'm totally the opposite. I need to know NOW, I need to do things NOW....

I agree that I would love to have the checks done before the interview. The waiting was bad enough, but would have to wait after the interview for a process that has no end date, and be stuck in limbo.
