Attending Interview with Beneficiary

Hi All, Well it is getting close to our time for interview in Manila and I was hoping to get some feedback from the spouses that attended their Beneficiary's interviews with them. I was wondering what type of questions were asked of you by the Co and also the impressions you had of the CO doing the interview. Mostly the questions asked is what iI am really wondering about. We have been practicing for my wife's part of the interview but not sure of the type of questions I, as petitioner, should expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I posted this at the Embassy forum but I guess this is better place for it since I am asking about Manila Embassy.

Main thing is to seek in how much you love each other any time you can.

Ex. Mr Joe! Why did you attend the interview?

Answer! Because I love my wife dearly and want to help her and be with her anytime I can.

Something like that. Have your wife answer the same way.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the comment. What I am really looking for in this post is some specific questions asked of the petitioner so we can do practice like we have been doing for the beneficiary.

Nothing specific except to say that I was able to enter the building, but not the interview. The COs don't often allow petitioners to be apart of the actual interview. Your number is called and "you" walk to the door with chairs to the side of the door to have a seat and wait. The CO knows your husband/financee is there (the prescreener will ask you this and pass it on), but CO really doesn't care so much about the petitioner, because it is "your" interview. You really have to put yourself in the seat of the CO, they are just doing a job and getting through the day like any other employee so unless there is something shaky about the petition or something extremely interesting, they really don't want to complicate "your" interview with a bystander who just might want to talk too much.

I would like to accompany my husband on his interview, i mean just be on the vicinity. Do you think they won't give me any trouble getting inside the USEM?

getting in to the Embassy is no problem if you are a US citizen they can't keep you from access, but actually being in the booth with him during the interview will be up to the CO doing the interview.

It's a big + if you (petitioner) will be there for the interview I believed. My husband was there too when I had my interview the CO was happy he was impressed that my husband was there because it doesn't happen all the time he said. Questions that will be asked from you basically about your relationship like how did you meet each other, how long is the relationship have been going, how old is the sponsor, what is his/her birthday, what is the sponsors address in the US, what is your favorite food, hobbies, things like that. Good luck!

I was at the embassy for my fiancee's interview. As soon as we were seated, I was informed by the CO that all questions would be for my wife to answer. He told me I could stay with her though. Their chat ended within 3 minutes, CO asked her about a Hollywood actress for some reason.. CO never really asked her anything about us, except for the 2 questions, which were about her choice of a husband (the CO seemed determined to make her re-consider in choosing me) and about the place (my wife's cousin's resort) where we had the engagement party.

I sat next to Marlene during her interview. The CO said it was nice that I was with her, but that it was her interview and he didn't want me to answer any question or help Marlene answer any questions. So, I just sat and listened.

Hi,I guess its depend on the CO because during my interview almost a year ago my husband then fiance is with me inside the booth we are seating across each other and the lady CO asked him a lot but not me the only question she asked me is if i know the reason why he had divorces and to avoid a lot of questions i replied no (but i know the reasons)..so she told me that we better talked about that so that we can get to know each other more i said we will and thanked her..our interview lasted for only 5 mins or should i say his interview  ..You'll be fine if the questions are answerable by yes or no just say yes or no so that the CO wont have to ask you a following questions from your answer.GOODLUCK

My wife's interview (fiancee at the time) was on Feb 6 2009, there was no issue with me going into the embassy, just showed my US passport to the guard, I don't think he even required it to be opened, just saw the blue cover and waved me in (of course he did inspect my fiancee's stuff). My attending the interview mostly involved us sitting around waiting and watching the numbers, commenting how we'd already seen the movie that was playing on the screen (it just loops) and otherwise trying to keep entertained. We went to the pre-screener together and he asked a few questions, nothing too fancy, probably how do you like the philippines (of me) etc. When it came time to do the CO interview, I went to go with but the lady who helps people with the DS forms (and probably acts as a general purpose information/helper/translator) said only the beneficiary could go back to the interview... so I am under the impression it's no longer up to the CO, I think it's officially just the person being interviewed now. Don't expect to go to the final interview with her, I wasn't expecting to get in either by the time the number was called but I gave it a try. The CO did ask her quite a few questions and even got off into some World of Warcraft questions about my characters there (which my fiancee doesn't know anything about beyond that I played for a while... she didn't play the game with me so she knows next to nothing about it, especially about the chars I had). At some point there was some mention that I was in the embassy, even though the prescreener presumably would have passed it on, I don't think the CO realized that at the start of the interview. I think the final interview itself was closer to 25-30 minutes.

My wife's interview was just basic questions 15 -20min. or less than 15min.. I was there inside the booth both took an oath. Who is your petitioner. How long you been married, date of marriage, place, When, how did you meet.Any kids? How many, how old? What's thier names? The CO was pretty nice and friendly Lady Di. After few minutes, she told me to go out and talked to my wife. I was called after few minutes. She asked me what's really the reason of my divorce and was it all true. I explained to her everything and last thing I mentioned was my ex decided to be with a woman. She was so shocked.:) But thats the truth.
