I checked my tracking numbers with USPS and all my packets (AOS, IV) arrived today at NVC. I see they are finishing cases in about 15 days now... I hope that's me! We'll miss the window for an April interview but May is still a good chance.

Can someone shed light as to how and when NVC schedules interviews?? :innocent:

NVC schedules interviews the second week of every month, for the following month. So if your case is complete by the end of the first week of the month, you will be part of the pool that gets scheduled for interviews for the following month.

For example (my case)

Case Complete: March 4th (Case complete by the first week of the month)

Interview Assigned: March 9th (Interview scheduled second week of the month for the following month)

Interview Date: April 22nd

Okay ... now this really sucks ... I just called the NVC and was told our case is in A.P. with no reason why or timeline when it will be done ... :(

I was told that "some cases just take longer to process" ... which means there's a snag and I don't know what it is :cry:

Since I have gotten case numbers for I-130's for Ksenia & Sasha, should I go ahead and start that process as well? I don't have all the money right now and that will really delay our interview ...

When did you case get to NVC and after how long did you find out ur K3 was in AP?

I asked Lisa a while ago why she was put in AP and in her PM to me she told me

"We dont know why we are in AP. Usually IF there is AP it is after the interview, at the end of dec the National Visa Center pulled a bunch of files for "random" AP. They havent given us a reason or a timeframe.

AP is "administrative processing" and it is basically security checks and such. background checks on either party.

the trend in our case is it lasts 6-8 weeks."

She stayed in AP for 50 something days. Hopes urs is a lot shorter!

I never got an email or NOA2 letter ... what I got was a letter from the NVC dated February 20th with our case # and telling us that our case would be forwarded within a week to Kiev ...

I just called the NVC today to check on if it had been sent out and was told by an operator that we were in AP ... he told me to call back a "week from Friday" ...
