I think what they mean, is that once your husband sends back the packet3, they will schedule the interivew. Atleast that is how the consulates work in India, where we have to send in the Packet 3 checklist, and readiness form, and then they assign a interview date. Then the Affadavit of Support, and DS-230 packages are submitted 7-10 business days before the interview.

That would be nice Que. But there wasnt any indication that they had sent the packet 3 to begin with.

I'm just hoping the silly thing is in transit as we speak.

My husband keeps saying: they gave _____ x amount of days to get his stuff done. I take that as there is no packet 4. Like, for k visas they(amman) just send you the packet and say, get this stuff together and done, you interview is on (date)

Yeah the Packet 4 is basically here is the interview date, remember the checklist you submitted saying you had everything ready, bring all of that stuff on the date we indicated.

I'm confused now because when Tucho picks up the packet 3 he is going to make the appointment. He has to bring the completed packet 3 to the interview. Is that just Costa Rica?

Jen, that's me too. Don't be confused. Each consulate is different. Some are appointment post and others something else I forget what they call them. Some even have a packet 4, ours doesn't. So I tell my husband as soon as they call u for packet 3, call back 2 hrs later and tell them we want an interview since we already have all our docs ready to go except for medical which I am sure the consulate won't schedule an interview for another month to give u time to gather ur items and get ur tests out of the way. I can't wait for that next step! :)

Costa Rica may operate differently, since the consulate is responsible for scheduling the interview.

Everyone will have a slightly different scenario I think.

GS I'll PM you. Too many haterz watching every post I make.

For our K3 we needed DS 230 Part I (but not part 2), DS 156, DS 156K (which the lawyer said we need, the consulate said we don't) and then the I-134. Plus supporting documents (which they gave us in a checklist).

Q, what are the exact docs for I 130 vs K3:

I 130: DS 230 part I and II and I 864

K3: DS 156, Ds156k, Ds 157 and I 134. Am I right or am I missing something?

In both categories you are missing the Police PCC and Passport PCC.

The K3 doesn't look correct. Your definitely missing the DS-230 Part I and II, but I need to check what else.

Lisa, what do you say we take our "Amar" (moon :P) faces and go to Amman and deal with it??? ;) I've been telling my husband before he leaves the continent I want us to take a quick trip to Petra (sans family). So we were planning on going there anyway

LOL! ya me and my BIG moon face  you heard that story ;)

Ok, here's the deal. I know how the normal k3 works with the 2 packets. But, after yazied told me the last two guys only got one, with an interview date already assigned, I am a little confused about how amman does it.

Honestly, I think the person answering my "thanks" email is the one who has seen my name 175876 times when emailing them, and was probably just giving me a little extra "it's ok,honey" heh.

DHL says our packet arrived on the the 4th or 5th(i think).

It will probably be sent out or has been and im just venting, worrying too much.

I forwarded the email to Yazied and he's like "WHAT?! I thought they already had it!" that was my reaction as well, as you see

ya, the DS-230 is missing.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Thanks, Narina. Yes, I got ur PM :) Haters, pfffffft..they need to get a life. I never understood haters anyways.

So u mean to say your consulate gave you the checklist right? And you didn't have to fill out DS 230 Part I and II?

Our lawyer is soooooooooo freakinnnnnnn' laid back for my taste!! He keeps telling us wait for the approval notice. FIRST it was wait for the approval and now it's wait for the notice/instructions to come in the mail :bonk: While I c his point and he probably wants to make sure we follow the steps correctly, I for one do not have the luxury to waitttttttt even one day longer than need be to bring my husband home!! I still can't believe a lot of us will be cutting it very close to the 10 mons. mark or possibly more before we are reunited with out SOs. God bless those waiting past the 1+yr mark!!!

If we're lucky and we don't get stuck in AP (Allah la ya qadir) - Lisa and I will be lucky to get our husbands here by our one year USCIS anniversary LOL Hers is April 21st and mine is April 23rd!

As for the lawyer, I didn't wait for them to get anything. I went ahead and filled out all the paperwork with them and made them put together my package, make copies, sign it, etc. The head of the whole law firm deals with me personally (I've given him lots of business ) So I always get what I want out of them...otherwise, I would probably still not have sent anything to my husband, while waiting for them!!!

Okay, I'm leaving. I'm so tired! I'm gonna be 2 hours short, but I don't care

Even though I'm just gonna go home and do nothing :( My husband told me "Stop buying stuff" - I think he's a little concerned about my $30,000 credit card bill! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL Poor guy! Well it's not my fault! It's immigration's fault! If he was here, I wouldn't feel the need to shop and spend money out of boredom and depression...and I wouldn't have to buy plane tickets to visit him! So there! At least I got tons of mileage for my plane ticket... Seriously, I don't know what I'm gonna do now. He gave the order so I'm finished.

Any suggestions for passing the time that doesn't include charging up my Mastercard?

Uh oh, once the word "order" is thrown out there, there not much arguing left

How about sharing some of your from scratch indian recipes with your pal Lisa...that will pass the time ;)
