Our AOS case was transferred to California Service Center last December 17, 2008 and until now no news or updates yet. How long it takes for them to process it before we'll know for the interview if there is any? Or what is really the next step after CSC?

Any members here whose case was transferred to CSC, how are your AOS case?

The above information is incorrect. After initial successful AOS a conditional 2 year GC is given not a 10 year GC. Also in some cases CSC transfers have been known to send the petition back to the petitioner's local office so interview still may be required. The best of luck to the OP

Not necessarily !... If you're married more than 2 years, you get 10-year GC. If you have derivative status from your

spouse who has had permanent residency, that is also not conditional but 10 years. Let me put it this way,

I didn't say it will be definitely INTERVIEW free, there is a possibility. Don't forget every case is different !.....

FYI, If you have marriage less than 2 years ( days between the wedding date & Interview date ), then you get 2-year

conditional, otherwise 10-year GC.

Good Luck !......

You are still within normal timelines... our case was transferred in Aug 2008 and approved in December 2008 (1 week short of 4 months). Most are approved without an interview at CSC.

Hi! Do not worry, I got transferred in January and do not have an update... The thing that sucks is the cases that are being processed att local offices already have their interviews. SO yea we probably do not have an interview but have to wait longer for the GC.

NO INTERVIEW AFTER TRANSFERED TO CSC !.....

Nobody is saying that can't happen, indeed it does happen for most people. The point being made was that approval without interview after being transferred to CSC doesn't happen for everybody and that the OP shouldn't assume there will be no interview just because they've been transferred. Somebody in a different received an interview notice after a transfer just a week or so ago so really, it's probably 'safer' to assume that there will be an interview (and gather documents in preparation) until proven otherwise by the arrival of a GC in the mailbox :)
