Mel and I have had several arguments that were about nothing. I think it's just a trying situation for us both and its compounded by the fact that she isn't able to work, or do much. We both know its hard and just try to keep going with things. My family is really trying to not smother her. LoL, my sister though, has completely failed at that part. It's OK I think they are becoming friends.

Understandable! I actually liked being smothered in the beginning, my in-laws would call every day, sometimes twice a day, take me out for lunch or shopping, show me around town.... I enjoyed all the attention because it kept me busy and made me feel happy! Mind you, the smothering has quieted down after 6 months  Now I'm on my own LOL

Oh wow, that's how I was last night! It was one of those sobfests where you can barely breath, Glen kept saying deep breaths, deep breaths, I think he was worried LOL! Thanks for the support, it makes me feel so much better to talk about it with people who TRULY understand.

I wonder what it's like for guys, adjusting-wise? Do guys get homesick and cry or is that purely a woman thing

We sure do feel homesick too. Everyone going through major changes like this is affected. The thing is that the adaptation will be faster or slower and easier or harder depending on people, but you will feel better, it just takes time.

Hang in there, you'll be fine

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

Wow..what the *uck happened in here?

You know, we have a good thing going on in the Canadian section of this board so to all those who just come in here to bother us...because that is essentially what you are doing..can you not? I think we would all really appreciate any one who does not have anything worth saying just to stay out.

I am absolutely sickened and disgusted to read the turn this thread took. I feel absolutely violated, as I'm sure most of us do. I hope to never witness such despicable behaviour in this forum ever again. I am angered that those who feel they were justified in their actions and participation, whether behind the scenes or right out in plain view, will carry around a sense of righteousnous for their part in this fiasco. I will always read your words through a different lense from this point in time.

And for the record.... Off Topic IS moderated on an entirely different level than the other forums. That is why you will see zero tolerance for this childish drivel in forums such as "Major Changes". Unbelievable.

Wow, I agree with you completely. I'm just wondering where the outrage was around post 1263? Like you, I feel absolutely violated.

I'm not trying to be rude but what is your purpose for being here? You have not said anything in this thread that is relevant to this thread so you aren't contributing. It appears you are just bothering people so please stop.

You're funny. "Good thing going" = bashing people in private?

This thread got hi-jacked yesterday. Any continuation of yesterday's behaviour will be addressed immediately. Let yesterday's business go. You won't have another warning.

When did you get the tracking number beans? I think sometimes it can take a little while before it is actually available to be tracked (like a day)

Rob,

I'm so gld Mel's little dog is ok. I've been thinking about you guys and him. It's so sad to see active little doggies with injured legs.

~ Catherine

Yeah, it's tough. We're trying to get him to take it easy for a couple of days, but he just doesn't want to cooperate. But he seems to be doing very well. How is your cat doing? Any updates?

Rats - the fridge and freezer has stopped working! It looks like it has been not cooling for much of the day. I went shopping this morning of course and put in fresh milk and everything was fine then. Then, while making dinner I 'heard' water dripping. I cleaned it up, opened the freezer and saw everything in varying degrees of thaw - including the ice maker - that is what was dripping. Check of the manual shows nothing I can handle, so I called a repair guy and yes, he can make it this evening. Now I am just waiting for him to show up. I've moved what was salvageable to the big freezer in the garage, threw out some stuff that wasn't salvageable, and have a whole bunch of meats to cook up tomorrow before I can refreeze them. NOT what I was planning on doing - grrr.

Sometimes with the cost of repairing them, ur better off just going buying new! Always a good excuse to go shopping!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I hope it's not too $$ to fix!

OK my second and last vent for the day is that I must be getting old! I used to be able to eat spicy, spicy food. Like I could eat jalepenos on it's own, I could handle the heat. Lately, a little bit of hotness makes my mouth burn! I don't enjoy it like I used to. I used to put hot sauce on everything, even eggs!
