The Vent - Part 2

My brother does that but he doesn't even have the deceny to stop at 11 (legal quiet time) he stops between the hours of 2AM and 4AM.

My vent:

Jeremy recieved a letter from NVC saying they transferring our case from Sydney to Montreal, when jurisdiction states I go to Vancouver (which is slightly faster anyways so thats where I want to be)

Called NVC talked to a lady who is convinced all visa cases go to Montreal. I try explaining to her what is stated on travel.state.gov and the Vancouver embassy web pages, and based on the information I received from Vancouver via e-mail. She still says sometimes Vancouver takes interviews but 95% of them go to Montreal. This is my angry point because I thought everything was getting fixed and now they're ###### it up again. I ask to speak to a supervisor. Then I get a Betsy she's nice but she doesn't know either and tells me to call back in two days.

This is all ridiculous.

I am sorry beans about all this confusion! I hope it gets cleared up soon!

Okay, so I bust outta school this afternoon and even beat the buses out of the parking lot! All so I can be home by 4:15ish (we get out of school at 4), and take some time to just sit and do nothing before I have to go coach at 6. So, I head downstairs to feed the dogs and there is STANDING WATER in one part of the basement!!! ARGH!!! I'm a desert rat from Arizona. I freak out and don't know what to do (other than the obvious - to soak up the water on the floor). So, I get it all cleaned up, move the 8'x10' rug on the floor (which is now drenched) and go coach. I come home from coaching and there it is again!!!! Water seeping up from between the seams on the concrete floor. *&^@$(*&$(W*&$W)$&)($*)!!!!!!!!

I REALLY despise living someplace that gets 80" of snow (this is the 2nd year in a row, too!) and then a gazillion inches of rain in less than a week. Plus, there's MORE rain on the way! BTW, I do have a sump pump, but it's in the other end of the basement... where it's dry. Go figure.

Global warming, my butt!!!!! (Okay, so as not to offend anyone, yes, I know that Global Warming is affecting our planet and that things don't look good for the future... all due to Global Warming in one way or another. I do know that it exists and that it is bad.)

OMG... and NOW there's a FLOOD WATCH???!!!??? You have GOT to be kidding me!!! One to two inches of rain before morning?? Seriously! I don't know if I have enough towels to keep things soaked up downstairs. Guess I'll just keep dumping them towels in the dryer and keep recycling them around. Towels soak up water, take dry towels out of dryer, put wet towels in dryer, take dry towels down to basement, allow towels to soak up water... continue repeating process. Argh. This is so unbelievably annoying.

So I posted in the EI thread, but I'll post here too because I'm pissed more than anything...

I followed the advise of fellow K-1ers and applied for my EI the day after I got down here. I have been recieving and sending back the paper report cards since the beginning of February.

USPS lost my original ROE from my job, so there was a delay in getting a second one printed off, but I called and had talked to Donna at the beginning of March, and she said the case would remain open until they recieved it, so not to worry...

So I call last Friday because I still haven't seen any money or heard anything from them. A lady calls me back this morning and I ask what is going on, when will I be able to start recieving the money etc...

SHe tells me "umm, you won't - we need proof you can work, and you can't so you won't get any money."

WhhhAAAA?

I tell her that I know many other Canadians that have been on K-1s and have been able to receive their benefits with their valid I-94 - she says "they're wrong".

Then I get a letter today from Service Canada saying that because I am a Non-Immigrant, and do not have permission to work yet, they will suspend my case until I can provide them with proof of authorization to work (EAD). This is a final decision, and if I think they're wrong I have to appeal it.

What is this? Why do some people get it, and I didnt? and more importantly, why the HELL did it take them 3 MONTHS to tell me this?! They have been leading me on for 3 months, and if I had known the first week I wasn't going to be able to get the money, I would be much less pissed.

I don't get it, I hope they take a long walk off a short pier....

This is all ridiculous.

There have been others on VJ that have had their file sent to Montreal, when it should have gone to Vancouver. What they have done is emailed Montreal, explained the situation and asked to have it transferred to Vancouver. I would even throw inthe info about it gettign sent to Sydney, make them take extra pity on you,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I would like to complain that the troll thread got shut down. It sure brought in the crazies rubber-neckers, didn't it?

Sorry about your vents, guys. Those all suck. :(

i'd like to vent about threads like that not being where they normally belong - like the mena forum, the pi forum, the divorce forum. some of us have to look all over vj for the drama! :ranting:

WHY IS IT SNOWING IN APRIL. ITS ALMOST MAY. SUMMMER. :(

I can feel my summer not existing this year. `_`

Yesterday's weather forecast stated "Spring-like temperatures". We're going to be in the mid-80's all week. I thought that was funny.

I know! I couldn't figure out what they were doing in the Canada Forum. This isn't where people come looking for drama.

Maybe they felt they would take pity on us - throw us a drama bone 'cause we so obviously don't have any of our own to bring in all of the . . . rubber-neckers - yeah, that's the word, that will do, hehehe. Le'ts just go and liven up the good old Canadians.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hey beans, that's too bad!

I would be emailing both Montreal and Vancouver, hopefully someone in one of the consulates will take pity on you and pick up the phone and call the other consulate and get it sorted out quickly!
