This is a little random, but this has been bothering me for awhile now!

Why as permanent residents of the US are we able to join the military and serve (possibly die) for our country, but are not permitted to vote?

I'm a member of the military, so this really bugs me.

Any thoughts?

There's another freaking lizard in the freaking house!!!!!1! :bonk::crying:

LOL! We used to get those little cuties in our house in NC all the time too! What is your method of dispatching them? I used to just put on rubber gloves and chase them around until I could manage to corner one and take it back outside (far far away from the house, that is.)

AWW!! That is so alien to me... to find a lizard in the house. I'll take a lizard over a bug any day!

My method is to get two tupperware containers, cage him with one, then quickly and carefully slide the other one over the opening so I can throw him outside. I really should get a net, I guess, since they're in here all the time. LOL

Except today's lizard has run under the couch and I cannot get him. I will have to wait for my husband to come home so we can corral him. I hope he doesn't climb inside the couch..... it's one of those convertible couch-beds and I'll never get him out. I want to move where there are no lizards. :crying:

Sounds like a good method!

You just need a moat.

I remember when I went to Barbados 4 years ago the house we stayed in had lizards running all over the place and cockroaches everywhere. It was a nice house too, they told us it's normal to have cockroaches and lizards in your house. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy that vacation, I couldn't sleep as I was so fearful of all the bugs and lizards, I actually wanted to go home 1/2 way through the week. They make me so uneasy and disgusted.

The couple my sister and I rented the home from, they said all over the island you'll find these critters because of the heat. I don't think it's normal either, but maybe in the Carribean it's a different story!

Well, I haven't seen any cockroaches but there are lots and lots of lizards here. They don't bug me at all.... except when they get in the house. As for cockroaches..... is that a generic name for the "armoured" bugs? Because I've seen some of those outside.

I don't know what an armoured bug is.

Yeah the lizards don't bother me as long as they are outside also

I don't know about the "normal" part, but on the coast in NC, there were millions of freaking cockroaches everywhere. It was disgusting and disturbing to no end. You'd go to a fancy hotel, there'd be a cockroach on the wall. You'd go to the gym, and a roach would be on the treadmill with you.

The little buggers were just everywhere, and I'm pretty much traumatized from them now lol.

Nasty nasty nasty little things.
