I got the Gardasil shot yesterday and my huge red welt won't go away and its on fire actually my whole body is.

That's not good hun, you should go get that checked out. You may be allergic to something in it....

Vent: I hate how Canadians can't stream tv shows from nbc.com or hulu.com. I just finished Season1 of Friday Night Lights (on DVD) and can't find anywhere to stream season 2!! I guess Ill just wait until I move in June. I'll have lots of free time LOL.

There IS a way to do it! I forget exactly, but I will check. I don't have cable, so I watch my stuff online, but thankfully I really only watch Lost, and stay current with it so I can watch on the CTV website, problem free :D

But yes... I'll look that up.... stay tuned (pun intended)

Well, there are a couple of ways for Canadians to watch these shows. First, the easiest is to just download them off thepiratebay.org. You'll need to go to uTorrent.com and i'd suggest you go to phoenixlabs.org to get peerguardian so nobody snoops on your downloads.

If you just want to watch the streaming videos, the easiest thing is to just use a proxy server. This is like routing your internet through another country, thus hiding your Canadian IP address. There are several free proxy server programs you can use, just google it.

Thanks Rob - I actually usually download torrents, but in this case I really just want to stream it because my computer is getting old and can't handle downloading like it used to.

My fiance also told me that there is a way to hide my IP address, but that it really slows down things, so again my old computer would probably not be able to handle that right now.

My work laptop also has limitations on what I can download, so I'd rather not do the Proxy thing on it.

Or you could just visit Surf The Channel. :P

That's the site I use, but if you click on some of the links now it brings you to hulu.com or aol.com and they block the Canadian IPs. Maybe some shows are not blocked??

Maybe its a Jersey thing...

But why must people interrupt?

This is a work vent...

Someone is talking to me, and my boss will walk out of her office and while this person is talking to me, she'll walk by and say something and I haven't heard it BECAUSE I AM TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE! But she'll just walk by and say: "Nevada don't forget mutter mutter mutter" thats all I hear.

OR

I'll be working on something and my fingers are typing and I am obviously working and instead of saying: "Excuse me." or asking if I have a minute, the events planner will just throw something on my desk and start talking.

What sucks the hardest is when the events planner is going on about something after interrupting me and my boss interrupts her and starts talking to me and they're both competing for air time.

That's when I squint and go to my happy place... mmm lemon drops and marshmallows. :D

LOL! I don't know if that's a Jersey thing or a boss thing. Because my boss will do the same thing...

Welcome to my life. Welcome to New Jersey. Our hell. Hey, maybe our whole damn state is rude, regardless of WHO they are.

LOL! I don't know if that's a Jersey thing or a boss thing. Because my boss will do the same thing...

Ya know...I've been thinking lately..

Do people just totally lose themselves when they get the title of "boss" or when they become management and have people that work under them? It seems like a lot of us have pricks for bosses. What's with that?

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Besides that I am pretty happy with my boss, she's not a b1tch or anything. She just talks over people sometimes. I have seen the depths of hell when it comes to a bad boss and she is not even close to that. She's spunky and fun, she just gets super hyper sometimes and tends to go off about things at the wrong time... like when I am talking to someone else. But besides that, she's cool beans.

I am just having a super busy few days so when tons of people are pulling at my strings I tend to want to blow up.

But that's why this vent thread is here... so we can come blow off steam to complete strangers instead of the people we have issues with. Ahh I love life.

If I could speak to you and you would really listen and comprehend I would tell you that:

I have seen the ache, and the longing and the gut wrenching agony of a father who is desperate to know and to be known by his children. There are no words that can soothe his heart ache and there are no answers for his questions. I see this man wake up every morning with a drive and determination to work and provide for his kids and to find new ways to be able to communicate the love in his heart for them from a distance. He is constantly seeing an object his kids would enjoy, or seeing a little girl that has his daughters’ #######, or finding a project that he’d love to do with his son. He sees fathers with their children in the mall and I see the sadness instantly appear in his eyes, he turns away and I know he’s battling tears of frustration. I watch him on the telephone as his kids are caught up in a video game or a move desperate to just be close to them, even if it’s just to hear them breathe, and not caring that they are not paying attention or have left the phone to go on to another task, but hoping that they truly hear his words when he says “I just called to tell you that I love you today”. He says his goodbyes every night empty in his soul because he cannot hug them to convince them of its truth.

I watch these things every day. I am a part of the longing and desire myself. From the time I met him he expressed this love through distance and it touched me deeply. I knew that whatever our future held, it would include the love and devotion to these little ones. I knew that I could never be a device to separate or hold him back from those children and that was a large reason why I left my homeland, left everything I knew to be with him. It is true I never met the children before we were married, but in my selling of almost everything I had in order to move to this Country, in my hawking of my most valuable possessions to pay for the immigration fees so that my husband could continue to support his children, I did it with them in mind. I have them in mind every night as I gently remind my husband to phone the children, I have it in mind every time he mails a card, and I have it in mind as I shop constantly keeping my eyes open for one item or another they would enjoy, or a set of jammies that would make them smile. I love them when I send hubby on a trip to see them, choosing to stay home knowing that the cost of my plane ticket would mean one less trip for their daddy to see them, and I love them as I pray for them daily that they would grow up to know love in it’s truest form. I love them as I entertain myself as my husband spends long conversations with their mother on the phone as they talk about issues and concerns and decisions. I have vowed never to come between these conversations or to resent them.

We love them daily in the way we live our lives. We live as simply and as affordably as we can to give them as much possible. We talk about their futures, we laugh about their quirks and we brag about them and their development with our friends and family. Their pictures are in our apartment, their names on our tongues and their hearts with us each and every moment. We love as best we can from a distance which may not look like much, but for now it is what we have. We do it as truly and as openly as we can given the circumstance.

Would this change anything if I sent this to you? Would you even bother to read it? I can’t answer that question but for today I had to write it. For today I had to speak it.

Taking a break from work to come complain again... while I am at it... :P

Not really complaining. I just really miss my little sugarpie, he's up visiting grandma this week. We are going out tonight to get a Wii and a hockey net to surprise him when he comes back.. I am really looking forward to his reaction, for months he's been telling us how ALL his friends had Wii's and how he didn't. So this should surprise him.

I tried the old: "If all of your friends jumped off a bridge would you?" saying and he would reply with: "That depends on which bridge we are talking about" Ahaha I miss that conversation with him.

I really miss him though... anyone in the South Jersey area have any kids you need to get rid of for a couple of hours?? I'll come by and bring them to the park.

Luckily everyone in my office has gone home so I can sit here and have my sniffles.

:(

I am not even you and I am upset, I can only imagine what you two are going through.

Em - your husband sounds like a wonderful man. That was a very touching note and I really think you should send it to who it is meant for (if anyone).
