So I know how you feel E. It sucks.

Awe thanks..

I guess that's one thing that sucks about moving away like this.. sometimes you realize the friends you had back home were not really true friends.. *sigh

So true... and Em it could also be, she's not *purposely* excluding you, but the fact is you live far away from her so she goes to other friends now to do activities that you would normally do together.... sometimes I feel excluded too when my friends do stuff back home but I have to remember I'm not there to actually be invited.... but it still hurts I know.... one of my BFFs has not called me ONCE since I moved, he doesn't have a LD plan which is fine.... I said whenever he wants to chat, text me and I'll call you.... but he's never texted, e-mailed, called..... when we saw each other when I went home there was a distance b/w us, it sucked.... I just realized over time, friends drift apart as life changes.

Ah, E, the hurt of what is supposed to be a good friend.

I'm having similiar troubles at the moment. I had a really good friend here in NJ who was more like family then friend. We used to live in the same town and hang out on the weekends.

Then he got a girlfriend, one he had dated before, and I've hardly seem him since. He makes plans with me and either doesn't call me before we are supposed to meet or doesn't show up. He has known my husband since he was 1, too, so it makes it even worse.

He texted me yesterday, on my birthday, complaining about how he was at a dave mathews band concert with sara he didn't want to be at after he jilted my on Friday when he was supposed to come with me to see my brother.

He didn't even realize it was my birthday.

I decided I'm not even going to acknowledge him at this point. It's not worth talking about because he doesn't like talking about anything below surface level so I'm just going to let it roll off my back.

So I know how you feel E. It sucks.

Grrrr! That's one of my pet peeves - when a single person starts dating and suddenly drops everything/everyone around them that made them the person they were when they were single. No matter whether I'm single, dating or married, I ALWAYS make time for my friends! Then if you break up, you've lost your friends and your life will suck.

Well that might be true except she lives on PEI and her friend she traveled to see for wedding dress shopping is in Ottawa.. so it's actually closer here in CT than to her friend in Ottawa :bonk:

Starting over job wise sucks.... I held the same job for almost 8 years in Toronto, and I got that job right out of University. Actually, started as a summer student and they hired me upon graduation. Before University, worked retail and restaurants. So I've never really looked for a job, since 8 years ago. It's so hard not only searching for a job that suits you (all the ones I found so far are like $8/hr and you need high school only) so I'm either overqualified or underqualified.... It's brutal. Plus not having US experience I feel is a hinder.... I know many of you have gone through this before.... And I'm also tired of my friends and family asking me "have you found a job yet" NO AND WHEN I DO, I'LL LET YOU KNOW!! Obviously when I get a job I'll be excited and will tell everyone but until then, please stop asking! I've only been legal to work for the past month and was in Canada 2 weeks of that month.

Maybe it's because i'm used to it here, but I think Boston, NYC, and Chicago are even worse.

That's not good hun, you should go get that checked out. You may be allergic to something in it....

Vent: I hate how Canadians can't stream tv shows from nbc.com or hulu.com. I just finished Season1 of Friday Night Lights (on DVD) and can't find anywhere to stream season 2!! I guess Ill just wait until I move in June. I'll have lots of free time LOL.

In line with the 'it sucks that BFFs suck'.....

Quick background:

My b/f (not to be confused with bff :P lol) used to lived in Canada... he moved to California in April '08. In August he came back briefly for a friend's wedding... we met.... in October (6 months after he moved) he came back again to visit me. HIS BFF did not meet with him in August... probably too busy or something.

But in OCTOBER, the two of them were supposed to get together... She really wanted to meet me, and see him again, and so we made arrangements on hallowe'en night (shuffling around other plans to accommodate her) for her to meet us at the bar for a drink or two before we went to a costume party.

SHE STOOD US UP. NO f'ing phone call, no notice, no apology... NOTHING.. NO CONTACT AT ALL with my b/f for almost ANOTHER 6 months (until a couple weeks ago when she randomly messaged him).. ####### is THAT ... She ditched BOTH of us without ANY acknowledgment, and REALLY hurt his feelings and pissed ME off a lot (which, I'm sorry, but you don't want your BFFs SO to be pissed off at you as their first impression)... and I KNOW she didn't forget because they confirmed that very afternoon.

 ARRRRGH... I know it was a while ago now, but I am still bitter..

There IS a way to do it! I forget exactly, but I will check. I don't have cable, so I watch my stuff online, but thankfully I really only watch Lost, and stay current with it so I can watch on the CTV website, problem free :D

But yes... I'll look that up.... stay tuned (pun intended)

My computer bites! Every morning when I turn it on, and click on Mozilla, it takes at least TEN minutes to open up my homepage. There's obviously something wrong with it, this morning ran virus scan but I don't know what it is, I'm not a computer person at all. I might have to have someone come take a look at it, one of those computer nerd companies that drive around. And it freezes often it's so sllooooowwwwwwwwwww

not sure if you fixed the problem yet but as I mentioned I was having a similar problem and today thorough the process of elimination I found out it had to do with the add-ons so I disabled all of them and then enabled them one by one, restarting Firefox each time and wouldn't you know it, I found the problem on the first try.. it was the Yahoo toolbar add-on.. not sure if you have the yahoo tool bar but if you do I would disable it and see if that fixes the problem..
