This isn't my vent, and not entirely sure it is a rant. My friend has been married a few years. His wife is a big fan of the Twilight series, and she was really hyped to go see the movie. My friend went with her to see it, and after she asked him what he thought. He thought it was an ok movie, but seeing her enthusiasm, he didn't want to insult her, so he told her he liked it. Well, the next weekend, she wanted to see it again, he didn't go, and could see that she was a bit upset. When she got back, she got her books out and read them all over again. The next day, she bought him his own set of the books. His response was "huh? I could have just read your books". She was having none of that. She had the special edition ones and as she put it, "these are a fresh copy, so you can read them and write your own notes in the margins"

Flash forward a few weeks.... he read the books, and of course she wanted to discuss it. He liked the books, but wasn't one of those hardcore fans. You know, the ones who have written fan fiction, and are have life issues about who the girl in the story dates, but she is. Well, he called me today and told me about his lunch with his wife yesterday. She showed up early to his office building with a twilight poster and wanted him to put it up in his office.

He was asking me what to do, and all I could do was drop the phone and piss myself laughing. So I guess I have two questions here. First, how much of a pr!ck was I for laughing at him uncontrollably and second, how the hell do you tell your wife that your're just not so into the thing that she loves the most?

 wow.

I don't get the whole twilight series.

But my uncle asked for the series for Christmas, so my mom bought it for him. He read a little bit and threw it down and said: "Ugh I didn't realize these were romance novels!" Err why else would underaged girls be screaming and fainting at the movies???

#######! I've recently re-installed MSN Messenger and am using an account I had back when I was working in Canada. It appeared my contact list had disappeared so I didn't think anyone still had me on there.

Apparently my name's still there somewhere because one of the crazy guys is now messaging me!!!!! :o:bonk::crying:

Me either, I dislike and type of vampire story so I guess that's why. And I don't find that lead actor guy hunky at all, he's not my cuppa tea!

I am pretty tired of being the only person in the office who knows how to use excel and import a reservation list into it. I have more important things to be doing. Sometimes when I have time I'll add coloured cells and just make it look a lot nicer, but right now I am racing against time - yea as well as posting on VJ so what - and trying to get other things finished.

So in the middle of everything the events planner - yes the one who speaks with the accent - asks me if I can update the list and do "that thing I do".

Why can't she? Why can't she use excel?? Because no one has ever taught her how, that's why.. that's her excuse and she's sticking to it.

It's all there in front of her just waiting for her to figure it out.

It's days like today where I ask myself: "What am I doing here...."

Agree, Calgary does have Taco time!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
