I don't have enough vent in me this morning to properly vent about this guy.

He campaigned, successfully, against a plan to bring subsidized housing for seniors into town by declaring, "I don't want to live next to poor people. I don't want poor people in my town."

*facepalm*

Wow that attorney in that article is a real douchebag.

Indeed. And that's not a word I use often. Unfortunately, in this circumstance, I think it might be the only word possible to describe someone who says something like:

"I wanted that kid to lose sleep that night."
~Referring to an 11 year old who gave an impassioned plea not to fire the librarians who helped her.

OK, here's my vent: TWILIGHT. God I really dont' see how people, get into this #######. The books were mindless drivel, and the movie was just awful. Could they pick any actors less talented? There are women in their 30's here at work obsessing about it, I had to kick them out of a conference room yesterday. Good god this infuriates me more than Dan Brown. How do hack writters get so far in this world nowadays?

He's pretty hot as a vampire, but that's about it. Peter Facinelli is hotter, though.

I like it because it was easy to read - but it pulls at a woman's heart strings. Agreed that the first movie sucked. Low budget and a ####### director will do that, though. Kristen Stewart couldn't act her way out of a box, and it's too bad that she was surrounded by quite a bit of talent. Hopefully the higher budget and new director will help with that.

Twilight hater right here!

I can't believe people are into it, the story line is shallow, the acting is terrible, and the books are LAME. I don't get it at all. It just makes me afraid for people who love it. And I do find it disturbing when adults love it because it makes me wonder if their brains didn't develop properly. :(

:P cept' for huggles, I forgive her because she cool.

Preach it!

I run a youth center and the kids are OBSESSED with Twilight. The books, the actors, the movies, the youtube "leaked" promos of upcoming movies, etc. I finally broke down and ran Twilight on one of our movie nights just before school ended last June.....managed to hide near the front desk and listen to music to drown out the shrieks of 13 year old girls. I guess it just never really dawned on me that there would be enough 30 year old women interested in Twilight to *fill* a conference room!

If I have to watch vampires....make mine True Blood, kthx :)

All the money in the world couldn't add substance to that flick. :P

Nice.

I know.

But I'm still hating the player. Because I can. Because he's my brother.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I am seriously sick of my job.

Never again will I seek to work for a small company. I can't stand it.

Every day, I come into work with my boss running around aimlessly and bitching about how stressful the day has been. Granted, sometimes we have really, really bad days at work. I'll give him that. But it can't be everyday.

And then I'll ask, so, what's been so stressful? Can't get a straight answer. Ask what I can do to help. No straight answer.

If he has more than one task ahead of him, and heaven forbid his wife isn't around to answer the phones for him, he doesn't know what to do with himself!

Then he'll ###### and complain when I push him aside from whatever task he's doing, so I can take it (and everything else) over and finish it in a quarter of the time it would take him.

He raves about the job I do to others. He complains that he doesn't want to see me go, and he doesn't know what he'll do when I'm gone (it's just the three of us).

But whyyyyy make my life so stressful in the meantime?

I used to hate that I was cut down to part-time. Now, with everything else going on, in order to actually avoid getting severely ill due to stress, I think I actually NEED those days off throughout the week.

Whew, 'kay. Had to get that off my chest. :innocent: Five week countdown with notice given... Come ooooooon, time.

That sounds like a bad boss, not really anything to do with a small business. But I do see that with a small company, you don't really have anywhere to hide when your boss' goes off on a tantrum. You should sign him up for a bunch of porn newsgroups. That ought to calm him down

Ahhh groupies. Just think of it, you could post a thread on those forums "OMG, he's at ____________ Bar now and he's in disguise. He's wearing a fat suit and a baseball hat, and trying to pretend it's not him"

Hell, don't have to bother with that. Somehow our main company email receives a ton of those - I know, as I'm the one who filters the damn thing.

And you're right. That specifically isn't a small-business issue. It's all of the other money issues/stresses on top of the daily issues like I mentioned that make me wish to steer clear.

I don't like working for "Family Business'". I've just had horrible experiences with them. Like the boss' wife draws an 80k salary while only being a part time employee.
