Yea I always tell her about the end of the day things, but its how she works. She isn't doing it to be mean, that's the thing. Her abrasiveness is not meant to be mean either. She is just very... Jersey. She was born in Brooklyn, grew up in North Jersey, and I have just come to realize that its the way people are around here.

Jersey people don't beat around the bush. It can come off as extremely rude if you're not used to it, but now I'm being told I have an attitude. I guess I have to learn how to have a Jersey attitude so I blend in more.

So if she isn't meaning to be mean, why is she smirking at your coworker when she is not being nice to you. Hmmm very suspicious.

Agreed krikit, the whole house buying fiasco is a .... fiasco!

Because I know she thinks its hilarious when I do get snippy. I know she enjoys it. I guess thats mean but I am used to it.

People tend to laugh when I get mad, sometimes my husband likes to push my buttons and make me mad. My entire family loves seeing me get mad. I don't know why... maybe its because my forehead turns beet red because I have a strawberry birthmark, my voice gets high pitched and I start talking really fast. No really, that's what happens.

I fail to see the humour in it, but everyone else gets a kick out of it.

"Jersey, that's whats up!" - Redman

It's a tough life, Nev. But, you are coming to my neck of the woods tonight so it's about to get worse! haha

Oh and Krikit, you SO right about this mortgage thing. We want to move closer to our jobs and we don't have enough $$ for closing costs. My mother goes,

"But if you are not buying another house, just selling, your costs won't be that high.."

I said, "I asked our former agent to do a cost proposal on what it would cost us if we sold out house..we are looking at 15K in closing costs.."

She was dumbfounded.

I know, I'll brush up on my accent and attitude on the way up! :D

As someone who delights in pushing buttons, I don't know why it is so entertaining. I can say that for me, my kryptonite is when I do it, my wife will turn to me and say "Stop acting like your father". It is no longer funny because I now have a reference point.

I'm like Trailmix. If I don't like the price, I refuse to buy the item. In some situations I'll try to negotiate a better price, though, if I really want the item.

I don't know why Americans think they're getting a better deal on things, though. Some things may be cheaper at first glance, but then there are the hidden costs which makes things even more expensive. Take, for instance, the cost of buying a house. In Canada you hire a broker, they find the best mortgage for you, and then you go and buy your house. In the US it's a giant mess. I can't even begin to list the numerous problems you have with securing a mortgage. Then, the thing that really irked me to no end, was the extremely high cost of closing the sale. Thousands upon thousands of dollars for closing costs?? #######?!!!!!1

Anyway.... I guess that was my vent.

I've never bought a house (only rented), so I don't know what the costs are in the U.S. I can't imagine it's easy or fun. My wife and I watch House Hunters and Property Virgins a lot on HGTV. Some of the shows are entertaining and some of the info is also good.

I think PV first started in Canada (there's a buttload of shows in Toronto or around that area), but they've recently expanded into the U.S. Most of the time the show deals with the northern states (Washington, Oregon, New York, etc) although it sometimes ventures south. I've seen episodes that take place in Florida, Alabama, California, Georgia, Texas and so on.

This is actually a movie store. lol

Hahaha!

That reminds me -- on Steveston Highway in Richmond there's an XXX Adult Video right beside Lubeworld.

Cracked me up every time I used to drive by them.

Yes, I'm sure you drove by it. :innocent::lol:

Your boss sounds like a very unstructured, fly by the seat of her pants tye of person. While they can be fun at times, it makes for a hectic work schedule.

They usually end up killing the company or driving off their best workers and killing the company.

Ugh, I'm so pissed off at my boss.

So Wednesday is "Take your kid to work day."

Okay, that's fine. I normally work Wednesday.

I come in today to see my shift gone. I said to her "Look, since you took that shift, give me one of yours in return."

She said "No, I need the money."

She took MY shift WITHOUT asking and now she wont give me one in return?

I don't think she should be expecting the full rent then, since I wont even be there the whole month. Ugh. I dont care if you need the money, do you want your rent to be paid in full?

Also the idiot bakery manager decided to smoke in the freezer while he was doing inventory.

Christ, go outside. It's disgusting and against the law.
