Why does it matter how they came in! One can sleep peacefully knowing you did it the legal way. One doesnt have to respond to their posts.

No, I agree, and I see your point....I for one don't take the time to give them a 'talking' but I love all the peeps that do...I find it funny...

I'll be honest, if I were given the option of jumping line, knowing full well it would work and not have any hassle's...damn diggity I would do it...I am just a stickler for 'legal' ways and get too worried doing it any different...

My anger comes from their ignorance...and the best yet, they flat out admit they are doing it the 'not so traditional' way...and when they get something they don't like, they get all self righteous and 'know it all' first off, it's a public forum moron's...why air your s*** if you can't handle it?

The one's I love the best, is people who come on and post stupidity, then when they're called out on it...they get scared...like we're gonna call USCIS...and they abandon their thread lol..HAHA!

I know this is truly evil to say, and I plan to call and confirm my reservation in Hell as soon as I log off...but sometimes when these people are the way they are...I secretly hope they get snagged for it...serves them right!

This is the problem with this system...it is as complicated, delayed and difficult as all the Eh-holes (get it Eh-holes lol) make it.... and then we all pay the price...think of all the BS USCIS deals with...all these jerks with their messed up corrupted applications...and then that same rep picks up your application after he just dealt with jerkies app...I mean...it affects us all lol...

Just like insurance claims....all these fraudulent claims, makes the rates go up and claims adjustment more strict...and then comes along an honest person with a simple theft claim, and they literally give you a colonoscopy just to receive payment....

haha...sorry, now i'm really done...

It just bothers me when I see (especially Canadians) take advantage of the ease we have to enter the country...and many just come to squat and try to stay....'but we are so in love...' 'we can't stand to be apart'... ah yeah and the rest of us are only 'partially in love' so waiting the 9 months was a walk in the park...'oh, of course Mrs. Smith, you can stay...I see here you guys are really in love...APPROVED! and don't worry about the overstay, consider it our wedding present to you'. lol...

I'm not bitter....I just can't stand people

Is that it? Give me 10 Pater Nosters and come back to confessional when you have some real sins. :innocent:

Either people know, or don't know the "system". If they didn't know too much about it, ask questions here, and get scared...I feel sorry for them. That's not funny. That's sad. Maybe they do think we'll call USCIS on them. Actually, they're probably scared from the rude and nasty posts that their questions get. That would make them run off for a lot of them...

If someone knowingly did it, sure I would love to see them get caught, lol Wouldn't hurt my feelings! truth is if someone "knowingly" came in and just kept their mouths shut they can very easily get away with it, just play dumb! Like I stated many time before, we saw an immigration attorney here in DC and that is exactly what she told us to do. Hmm Didn't sound right to us. Yes people do have a right to feel ticked, but I have better things to worry about, lol And if they do get caught, their lives are then truly going to be miserable. As I stated in my last port to Len, i didnt realize this was the VENT forum and she has every right to vent! Just like I have every right to enjoy a FINE coffee from STARBUCKS!! Sipping a Venti extra shot latte! soo good!! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

So my TD Visa information was stolen and $1,000 worth of purchases were made at different Walmarts in Duluth, Georgia on Monday. I have never been to Duluth, Georgia. In fact, I was distinctly in Ontario, Canada on Monday. icon2.gif The last time I used that card was over a year ago in Europe. I have been reviewing old statements trying to find where it could have been compromised. The Visa Fraud people say it could have been that my card information just got into the wrong hands because I still, physically, have that card. I feel so violated. :(

Not so much a "not doing things the right way" rant, but it severely irks me when the same question is posed in several different forums, as if they're looking to illicit a different response each time, or continue posting until they find one they like.

And even more than that, when someone new to the forum shoots off a question or two (or eight) in a PM to me, I take the time to respond in lengthy detail, and then they pose their question to the board as if there had been no discussion between us at all.

I'm trying to be courteous and respond to the best of my ability. If you wanted everyone's opinion (or felt that mine wasn't up to snuff) why bother writing me time and time again?

I think a lot of people in this forum who try to be as helpful as possible get abused a fair bit. And I don't even blame those who get upset at some of these posters, because whether trying to be nice or immediately jumping down their throat seems to render the exact some result from OPs who are looking for the answer they want to hear.

'Kay, I'm done. Heh.

Krikit, I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully it gets cleared up asap.

@Krikit: That sucks sorry. :(

@Vent thread:

My family sucks.

That is all.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Oh man, that happens to me too! I get some really weird PM's sometimes with questions I can't possibly answer. Like, consulate specific questions that aren't even in Canada, or questions about getting drivers licenses in states i've never lived in, weird things like that. Its nice that people think I'm intelligent and can help them with some questions, but common!

And Krikit, dang!! that sucks! Sorry about that mess!

Thanks Sam.

Yeah, definitely a pain in the butt. This is the 2nd time for this card, though. The last time I was in the middle of moving. Literally, I was standing in my new house directing the movers on where to put things when I was contacted by TD Visa about some transactions which were occurring on the other side of Toronto. Apparently I had a great time at Liquid Nightclub the night before (to the tune of $1,200) and had just filled up my boat ($600) at the PetroCan in Markham. Not something I needed to be dealing with at a terribly inopportune time.

I like the fact that they're very pro-active when it comes to reviewing my spending patterns, but it really doesn't endear them to me since it has happened twice now. icon2.gif

Anyway, I always like when cashiers verify my signature whenever I use a credit card. If those other cashiers had been more diligent, they would have noticed that whoever signed those previous transactions had a signature which was markedly different than my own.

Ooops! Editing 'cause I see there are other replies. Thanks guys!

Ok so my contract is up at the end of December right? I don't know why, but it seems like my co-workers don't think I'm worth their time anymore. Last week I sent an email to one of my co-workers saying "I need to have a meeting with you about x, it won't take long, but it needs to be done soon". So she asked if we could have it this week and I said sure.

She hasn't mentioned it to me since, so I call her this morning and she said "Well is it important? I don't have time". Well fine, I'll send all the screaming emails her way from now on, since she doesn't have the time to have a 20 minute meeting, but she has half an hour everyday to blab on about her son, or her quilting, or her family or something.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

OH NO YOU DIDN'T!! :o I will send my hommies to teach you a java lesson.

and yup, this is the Vent thread. And you bet I would love for those who knowingly cheat the system to get caught and put through hell. Because i have friends like estadia who is doing it legally and waited for over one year for her NOA2. That's why. I am not a Polyanna, and I don't have to be loveydovey to people who refuse to acknowledge their mistakes. I try to help with accurate information, because I care. If they want hugs, kisses, and "everything will be alright" BS that has nothing to do with how USCIS will see their case, I am not for that.

Don't like it? Too damn bad. Immigration is serious stuff. Lives are on the line. I care; I just don't care to babysit those who can't shut their mouths and open their ears to learn what they can do.

I know how that feels. The first credit card I ever got was stolen and someone used it for thousands of purchases. And by "stolen" I mean the number, not the physical card. I wasn't held liable for it and I was issued a new card. Even so, it was extremely annoying.
