JillA,

You know what's weird? My insurance only lets me get one month of medication at a time in person but they'll pay for three months if I get it through the mail.

Yea if I went back home and said mac machine people would be thinking I was talking about Mac's milk.

Actually, my mum always called it a Mac machine. I think this was ordinary vernacular back in the day, even in Canada.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Rather than a vent, this is just really a weird story.

So, we go to RBC to get a pre-approval for the mortgage - fine. They do that but the mortgage woman is very vague about things like terms and interest rates. For instance she quoted us 5.75 but as most of you know the interest rates dropped the other day so I asked her if the one she quoted would drop too - guess not - she never really answered me.

Secondly, I found out the other day that they sell your mortgage on. I actually had to come out and ask her - she was not volunteering this information.

Also at one point I mentioned to the realtor that I was going to contact a mortgage broker, after she mentioned she was going to meet one she knew after she showed us some houses. I called said broker - she was going to call me back the same day, she never did - she did however call the realtor back?

Then! When I go to talk to ms mortgage again the other day, she said 'and who will you be getting your mortgage through' - I said, RBC (and i'm thinking - umm i'm talking to you about mortgages) - she replies, something like - you know these people (banks that have forclosed) will not look at a mortgage from a broker (note: I, of course, never mentioned to her that I was talking to anyone else about mortgages).

So I have apparently come upon a little tight knit group of some kind - so I think I will call another broker today

Good luck and beware, most real estate professionals are an inbred bunch of bottom feeders.

True. My brother in law is trying to buy a condo right now and he's realizing every one he is dealing with is a tight knit circle. He's getting REALLY tired of it.

Although I feel sorry for him because his mother-in-law to be is his realtor. SUCKS TO BE HIM!

Interesting Amanda! I always thought it was a PA thing. I understand it is also an acronym like ATM but I honestly never heard of it until I came down here.

Anyways on the work front, the HR just came up to talk to me, she said that this lady has had a problem with every younger person that has come to work here. She told me that I am doing a fabulous job and that I handled the situation well because I called for a meeting and tried to talk to her. I knew it wasn't just me who has had issues but I still wanted to try to fix it because I don't like the feeling of walking on egg shells around someone. I don't think the issues were resolved, I don't think it can be resolved, but I tried. :)

The lady still has a job even though she walked out yesterday, threw a chair, and was generally abrasive. People are telling me to go to the GM because they are saying if he gets wind of the situation she'll be let go. It's not my intention to get someone fired. Its my intention to try to work through it, you're not going to like everyone you work with but you have to work with them. I just wanted her to be nicer while working with us, that's all.

Oh and this lady has called up every employee who wasn't involved in this matter to try to get them involved. So this morning everyone and their baby daddy is coming up to me asking: "Are you okay?"

I. am. fine.

Not really, but I will be.

Yea when she was getting up after I told her she was mean, she got up picked up the chair with one arm and flinged it... it wasn't WWF style or anything like that. But she did throw it and she could have broken the window it landed near.

And yes there's an old lady way to throw a chair... I saw it with my own two eyes yesterday.
