Other vent: People who go to meetings unprepared and need lots of copies and insist on standing right by your side while you do it, and then the copier breaks and you're trying to fix it... while they stand there waiting. You try to tell them that you'll bring them their copies when you fix the printer and they insist that it's okay, and continue to stand beside you while you curse out the copier.

I just wanted to look at them and say: "You know there's a kinkos down the road"

You should have told them they were crowding youuuu!!

So...I got a call on my cell phone from a RESTRICTED ID today, I have been getting these calls the past 2 weeks and they have been leaving

voicemails saying " I'm calling in regards to a very important personal business matter. Please return our call at..." I figured oh it was probably that

GEICO quote I did a month ago. So I call the number back and a recording comes on that is repeated in English & French. I start thinking...this cannot b

be GEICO calling!! "You have reached commercial credit adjusters, please enter the extension you wish to reach." At THAT point, my blood pressure was

through the roof! :o I was thinking....I have never EVER paid a bill late...what the hell!?!?!?! So this very nice lady answers the phone and I say I had a

voicemail message on my phone, but did not have the reference # as the message cut off. She asks me for my cell phone number, and she's like "yeah

we have an overdue collection for a Tyler...... at this number, does this person sounds familiar?" At that point I was so irritated, I was like NO!! This is

Andrea......., I have no clue who Tyler.......is!!! She says "Oh well then he must have had the same number as you at one point, I'll take this number off

the computer!" #######!!! I have had this cell phone number since I moved back to Canada in June of 08!:bonk: I did not know cell

phone companies can recycle your number!!!

oh yes, they definitely recycle numbers. A friend of mine in Canada got a number that used to belong to a radio station. He would get calls all day and all night from people asking him to play certain songs. He would try to explain to them that this was not the radio station. Finally, he just gave up and said 'sure' and hung up.

When I moved here I kept getting calls for someone from Social Services saying he had to call back and it gave a totally unrecognizable name at such and such a number in relationship to a child custody matter. So I would call the number and explain to the person who answered that it was a wrong number but because there was no way to decipher what the calling party's name was (strong accent and all name blurred together) and the woman answering the phone could never identify who it was I might mean, I kept getting these messages. Finally, she called when I actually had the cell phone with me and I was able to tell her she had the wrong number. She kept saying, 'well, this is the number he left' and I kept saying, well, it isn't his so don't call it anymore!

On our home phone when we first got it we kept getting collection calls for someone with regards to outstanding student loans. They wouldn't believe us that this was not her number and kept asking her address! I kept saying, I have no idea who she was or where she lived. Those calls didn't stop until we registered with the Do Not Call Registry.

So last evening it looked like it was going to rain so I didn't water the garden even though it needed it. Of course, it didn't rain. All day today it looked like it was going to rain - so I kept putting off watering the garden again. Around dinner time it started to clear up and it looked like once again it wasn't going to rain so I went out and watered the garden - and fed the mosquitoes. Now 2 hours later we have a thunder and lightning storm and a torrential rainfall. Big sigh - I guess if I want it to rain I need to water the garden. Either that or wash the car. (Maybe I can quickly run out and throw some dishwashing detergent over the car so it can get washed at the same time, what do ya think?)

one of our old numbers was one number different from a local Chinese restaurant so once in awhile we would get calls from people wanting to order Chinese food

OMG, a radio station!! Social Services!! That would be so frustrating!! I would totally play along with the Chinese restaurant though...

I am just happy to be freeeeeeee of vonage - even though it cost me $39.99. No, I did not read the terms of service! We needed to have the service for 2 years to avoid paying the disconnection fee - we only had it for - who knows, over a year - anyhoo, after much complaining etc and listening to 3 people offer me great vonage deals (whatever) I just called and had them disconnect it. It makes me happy

Hehehe be prepared for them to keep calling and trying to lure you back. We had vonage for when I was still in Canada and it was fine at first. Then, the service really began to suffer and it got to the point where people in Canada told us not to call them, that they would call us because of the horrible connection. So, when Comcast offered their digital phone service we gave it a try and were so delighted with the quality. We contacted Vonage and tried to disconnect the service. Well, they fought and resisted and kept trying to offer us sweeter deals to remain. When we complained about the quality they said oh they would give us one of their top quality modems that they were now producing and that didn't have those problems - so they obviously knew about the quality problems and only gave you a good modem if you complained! Finally, they got the message that we were indeed disconnecting the service - but for at least another year we kept getting 'we want you back' mail and at least once a month someone from Vonage would call and try to get us to sign up again. The more they called and the more mail we received the gladder we were to be rid of them.

Actually I would recommend that anyone using vonage call and try to cancel lol

They offered me 2 months of free service and then $14.99 a month (as opposed to the regular $24.99 a month) for 6 months! Our service was fine and I actually would have used them in Canada - except Shaw is cheaper. Of course based on my recent interactions with them, I would never use vonage again.

Ugh I hate Vonage! When Glen and I started dating, he had no home phone so he bought a phone and signed up with Vonage. The connection was always awful, he could never be on the internet at the same time as the phone and that annoyed his roomate. We always got cut off and I could barely hear him or him me. So he finally cancelled the dang thing and got verizon which is a million times better
