Ok, so if I am understanding this correctly Sprailenes, someone on facebook made a fake profile and linked to your VJ posts and somehow your family members got access to this person's profile or links?

You know what, when you said that about maybe being a VJ person I thought noooo, but you know what, it wouldn't be the first time someone has directed others here (not saying it's the same person) - I just mean some people really do get their jollies stirring up things I guess.

Sprailenes, I know you are angry but let's think of it from another perspective. Everyone, at some point in time, bitches about someone else. Heck, we ###### about our own spouses and kids sometimes. It's natural, and it's a stress relief. If we all kept everything bottled up inside we'd see random people spontaneously exploding all over the place. I'm sure your MIL has bitched about you too. So she'll get over it. As for the person with evil intentions.... some day they'll be found out. And they'll deserve every bit of whatever's coming to them. They have to be really really miserable and inwardly despise themselves to do something so evil and bitter and underhanded as this. It must be a terrible terrible life they lead.

Thats what my husband told her.... thank god for a supportive husband!

She is able to vent to her mother about me, and they talk about all of their kids significant others, and ###### about ALL of us.

Who am I supposed to go to? Thats what he said. I come here to talk, to shoot the ####### and I am comfortable here.

I am just sorry its a public forum where everyone can see it. That was my mistake.

For variety, I'm going to interject a vent here. I just got a call from a telemarketer (who claims she was not a telemarketer) from my virtual number back in Canada. I asked her how she got this number and she told me it was from a ballot I filled out. Yeah right. She wanted my address so she could mail me my voucher so I could come in and pick up my gift. I asked her if she was calling from Canada and she said yes. (Not quite sure about that one because she sounded like she was calling from one of those off-shore customer service departments in India, but whatever.) Anyway, after she asked I told her that I live in the US and that I have NEVER given out my number to ANYONE. She said "Really? Oh God." THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!

I got an email with links to each thread asking for an explanation. Awkwaard.

My explanation would be "I'm venting! Don't you vent??"

Thats pretty much what I said.

Thast why one should protect their FB accounts and not just make them open for public viewing! I belive, if you add any of those FB applications, then you really open urself up, as then you can be found on Google and other search engines. of course if you keep ur info private, they may be able to find you, but cant see ur FB posts! BUT as in ur case, ur hubbys account wasnt "private" bu topen to public viewing, then of course they can see some of ur posts via him! Pretty sad that others enjoy causing pain to others!!

I don't know who did it. No one else really knows I go on VJ. I don't care who did it. To be honest I stopped trying to wrap my head around the who's and what's yesterday and I decided to post about it today just to warn people to watch what they say.

To sit here and try to figure out who did it, why they did it, it's a waste of time to be honest. I am not going to waste my time thinking about it too much, what's been done has been done.

I guess I'll just hire a therapist now to talk to and vent to.

Hmm - this sucks and whoever spent the time is vindictive and childish. I would cut the convo with your MIL short and say something along the lines of...I was venting amongst friends and said some things that in hindsight are hurtful to you and I'm sorry......she knows how she acts, she probably just doesn't like the reality of seeing it on paper

or something like that. You haven't said anything more on here then any other DIL does about the 'other woman' in her husband's life...MIL's have habits that drive DIL's crazy, every knows it. my MIL drives me bonkers somedays, my husband knows it

Well that totally sucks. You're right that someone has no life.

Hopefully your MIL will get over it soon. I'm actually surprised she got her knickers in a twist and demanded an explanation. People vent. At least you vented to people that don't know her. Your words here are hardly going to affect her life.

BUT

It's the internet and there is no private. I totally and completely understand that.

I take absolute responsibility for the things I have said here, I am not asking for sympathy, or anything. Just a warning to everyone else. I wasn't even going to mention it because I didn't want to give the person gratification, but who cares. Nothing terrible happened. The world didn't end. My life still goes on.

I would like to say be careful what you say about anyone on these boards. Sorry to all my vj fb friends but I had to basically delete all because some a$$hole sent my mil links to threads where I complained about her. I mean really? Whoever it was must think they're really funny and we have all vented about people and things we don't like but to "attempt" to try to get someone in trouble... what are we? Five?? With that being said I am not sorry about the things I have said but I am sorry for the person who feels the need to get their kicks this way.

I don't know who did it, I deleted fb friends from vj in anger, not really thinking about the situation. I have a hard time believing it was someone here, but perhaps I am just naive.

I take responsibility for saying the things I have said and the fact that they were said on a public forum.

But sometimes I get fed up and I vent. I am human. Whoever did this is a fvcking a$$hat tho.

BTW no offense that you took everyone from VJ off of your list. I had to do the same with my coworkers at some point, even the ones I am getting along with, because a major conflict happened. So no one from my work there for me. I agree with others that we all need to vent sometimes, and I am happy your husband took your defense.

As far as I am concerned I was misinformed that your MIL was some sort of eel with big teeth that can be found at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago....

There was a columnist doing a story on immigration. Or so she claimed. What she really wanted to do was slam the MENA women who were marrying men from those countries, but she did a very underhanded and despicable thing. She captured their photos and profiles from VJ, then pasted them into her column. And then she belittled them. I suppose I could try to find it if you really wanted me to. lol. Unless Charles saved the link.

My vent...... City and State officials of California and Los Angeles. They offered to pay for the funeral and the public funeral at Staples Center for Michael Jackson. It's going to cost 4 million dollars as well. The mayor of Los Angeles was on the news this morning begging for the people of L.A. to donate money to pay for this. All this when we already have a massive budget shortfall. Not like a man whose net worth is in excess of $1 Billion couldn't pay for his own funeral.

OHMYGOD Nev!!! I just read this now. That is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone needs to vent. Hell, that's how I make my living ... Unfortunately, your story is a good reminder to all of us to be careful on the Internet. I admit, I think I have gotten a bit lax. I used to be super paranoid and did not want anyone knowing my real name, etc. Because I feel very close to the Canadian forum and the Baby Corner, I linked to some recent pics of me and my family. Kinda regretting it now, but not enough to do anything about it. I have my Facebook account private, but I have gone out on a limb and added some VJ people to it. I agree with Krikit, I cannot believe any of the regular Canadians would do such a thing. That is the work of a 12 year old masquerading as an adult.
