mini vent...

we still have not gotten our tax refund.. our accountant said it would be direct deposited into our account in about 2 weeks but then that passed and I was reading that it can take up to 3 weeks but then that passed.. tomorrow will be 4 weeks....

if the money isn't there tomorrow, hubby said he was going to go talk to the accountant and see what is going on..

in slightly different news our car repair bill got paid off finally, no thanks to the refund :P .. my parents paid for half and the hubby got a really good check that covered the rest

Yay for paid off bills! Yay for really helpful parents! Boo to late tax refunds!

I just miss her so much (F)(L)

My fiancee came to Canada to visit me for 2 weeks. After 2 beautiful weeks and so much happiness being together again, today was the day she had to leave to go back home in USA. I drove her back to the airport, we checked in, then we kissed and hugged for about 15 minutes trying to comfort each other and trying not to cry, said goodbye and I came back home, I can still smell her perfume in my apartment, I miss her so much already, god it hurts being apart from my baby :crying: , god I love her so much :)(F)(L)

Awwwwwwww. (F) We can totally relate. But like Jill says, the time will go by before you know it, and this will all be behind you. Hang in there. :)

Bah bah bah bah..

Need to stay focused for hubby :bonk::bonk::bonk:

My body is rejecting the time difference and wants to sleep at 3am and get up at 6am. :crying:

The bags under my eyes are going to be at my chin.

You can use them to carry extra stuff on your flight back home!! Yeah, yeah. Bad joke. I know. :hehe: How's the visit going, Cat?

Ok, I always thought that all of Canada was bilingual. I was in Montreal like 12 years ago, so my memory of it was a bit hazy. ####### is up with everywhere BUT Quebec having to be bilingual?

We got to Montreal just in time for the tail end of a riot there. Guess the people of Quebec are just naturally cranky :P

lol I guess your referring to the signs and stuff like that!! Guess when it comes to actual speaking, it sure isnt bilingual, lol

1 reason when i fly back to canada i don't fly Air Canada--dont have to listen to everything repeated in French, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

1 reason when i fly back to canada i don't fly Air Canada--dont have to listen to everything repeated in French, lol

Only things I saw that were in English were the directions on some of the highway signs (North, South etc.). We were given wrong directions. It was funny on the train. As soon as we passed through the Ontario/Quebec border, suddenly the announcements were only in french, and the attendants stopped speaking English. Oh well. The city looked nice, but the people were rude. I'm not going back there again if I can help it :P

yeah ours were e-filed and we did the direct deposit too..

I wasn't in there but hubby was saying that it had something to do with the amount of stimulus we claimed we got.. I didn't know we had to give the exact amount when we had originally done our taxes.. at the time the accountant didn't make it seem like the exact amount was terribly important

we have already been waiting for 4 weeks :P

Ohhh boyyy.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
