Why do people put such odd pictures in their signatures? I know there is a mechanism to turn them off completely, but sometimes they are cute and I like to see them (like the ones Marilyn chooses)

But I just opened a thread and there is someones ultrasound of their pregnancy. What's up with that?

Anyway, yeah I know, I'm on my way to turn off the signatures - but geez.

HAHA! I agree.

Or the people who have tons of glittery pictures with words like: "GOD'S WILL + LOVE = US!" or some ####### like that.

I totally made up that equation by the way... it was an example of some of the ridiculousness you see out there.

Or even ones that say: "I LOVE MY WIFE!!!" Hmm are you trying to convince us or yourself?? :P

Donne moi une poptart!

I think you could... but you don't have to... there's a ton of people in costumes though. If I were to dress up I'd be a spinster.

Renaissance fairs are fun. I really enjoyed the pub crawl singing the beer beer beer song.

My sister had a theme wedding at a castle in Ireland. We all wore medieval costumes. I thought it would be kind of hokey, but we had a blast! We all met where she lives in Yorkshire, England. She had hired a motor coach so we piled into that at the local pub (because the streets were too narrow for it to get to her house). Then we drove to the ferry (the song Holiday came on so we were all singing that... lol) and crossed over to Ireland, then on to Galway.

We got there a couple of days before-hand, so the bus driver (who had brought his wife) took us sight-seeing to different places. Some of us got dropped off and took the boat over to the Aran Islands (where I was just dying to buy an Aran sweater! lol).

The next day we got dropped off in town to have our hair done. OMG, we HOWLED walking through the streets of Galway with our hair done up medieval style and our hairpieces/tiaras on our heads. We went to Faller's -- in business since 1879 -- and I bought a beautiful Claddagh ring with a ruby (my birthstone) in the heart and a couple of little diamonds on each side. Then we had the wedding at the castle and it was awesome, and so was the reception. By this time, we'd made friends with the bus driver and his wife, so we invited them too. They were a hoot. At one point in the evening he leaned over and kissed the top of my breasts because I was wearing one of those medieval dresses that pushes your boobs up and out. As I stood there with my face like this :o and his wife killing herself laughing, he said "I couldn't help it. I've been looking at them and wanting to do that all day." OMG.

After another day of sight-seeing, we drove up to Dublin the following day. OMG. I absolutely (L) Dublin! It was amazing. Some of us went to the Guinness factory (yay for Guinness!) and some of us went shopping. Then we all went out to Temple Bar, which is a medeival area of town with tiny cobblestone streets and fabulous restaurants and clubs and pubs. We went dancing at this amazing club and I was having such a great time! (The song Raining Men was playing, and it certainly was. lol) Then my brother wanted to go to U2's club, so we all left to go there, but it was packed and we couldn't get in. Awwww, the memories. :luv:

Anyway, I guess that's really a long way of saying that dressing up for stuff can be fun.

phew, for a second I thought you were talking about my sig

yeah I am not crazy about the US pics in the sig eithers.... but more for personal reasons... I don't mind if people post them in a thread but I don't want to have to see them every time I am reading through a thread...

I don't mind people talking bout their pregnancies... I just try and not think about it too much.... and try and be happy for them...

sometimes it is hard though....

I've wondered that many times myself! I actually found and add-on for Firefox called AdBlock Plus. It gets rid of most ads on pages which is nice, but the best thing about it for me is that you can right-click any image and block it. It's awesome! So now whenever I see sigs that have big obnoxious pictures, I just block them!

At least once a week while shopping, I get approached by women wanting me to join some Mary Kay leadership something or other. Then I spend the next ten minutes with my fingers in my ears repeating "No, no. no!" until they finally get the hint. I would mind so much if they had the grace to back of when asked to. Today's was particularly difficult to dislodge.

Next time it happens I'm going to ask if she's gotten permission to be in the store bothering the customers and then I'm going to complain to the store manager.
