Also she updates her facebook status via cell when emergencies occur. Which I happen to find a bit odd.

An example:

"Taking J to the hospital! she's not breathing!!"

Oh really? When do you decide that while your daughter isn't breathing that it's a good idea to update the fb status??

That's incredibly odd - is she in touch with social services at all? She should be.

No, she isn't but I know she should be.

I find it odd no red flags have been raised. She has put her daughter through extensive testing after she said she was fainting and the doctors couldn't find anything wrong.

She brought her daughter to the hospital and said she wasn't breathing and when she got there the doctors said she was breathing just fine. I mean the doctors should have thought something was up then, no?

The police have been involved with her a few times after she's made claims. Of course they didn't know she was lying but I am sure now that they have found her stuff in a sewer they may think something of it.

She's just really unstable. And what angers me is my cousin is so stupid to believe her every time and my aunt and uncle go back and forth constantly. One minute they're on her side and the next they think she has problems. I know accepting mental illness is really difficult but the sooner they recognize it the sooner she can get help.

Yeah today was not a very good day at our office. I snapped at my boss after I just couldn't take it anymore and she forced me to talk to her.

Well, the good thing is that she's probably thought about the conversation non-stop so, hopefully, she will adjust her behaviour.

Make them take it, if they fob you off, shove it in their hand and run.

I laughed at the visual I got from that.

Ugh. So Hawaii already has the lowest paid State workers in the union. Well today our Governor announced that in order to close the state budget, all state workers are going on a 3 day/month furlough. Meaning - no pay for 3 days a month. Get this. . . . . . FOR TWO years. And better yet, it seems that we're expected to show up to work for the days we do not get paid.

3 days/month = 36 days per year = nearly 2 months without pay/year.

Who can afford that? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. :crying::lol:

What the *&%$ ?

That's exactly what I thought! That's outrageous.

I have a funny story about the word "dyslexic" though...

At my job at the fairmont I was making table numbers and I had put them out for a wedding and I guess I had put the numbers in the wrong order and the manager took me into her office and asked me if I was "anorexic" and I was sooo confused! I actually got really offended and told her no and then she mentioned the numbers and I said: "You mean DYSLEXIC!" Hahaha I wanted to ask her: "Are you a moron" after that.

On a similar note - about a month and a half ago they cut the wages where my Husband works - 8% across the board. So Last Friday the manager tells them he has spoken with the people and my Husband and the other guy will be getting their 8% back, effective June 1st. Yay!

Yay!

Then yesterday they get a letter - the dollar amount we will now be paying for health care coverage has been increased by roughly 100 a month.

So we now pay almost 400 dollars a month for a plan with a $6000 deductible.

:o

Sprailenes..... your cousin's fiancee.... that's just horrifying. Could someone call Children's Aid? I'm worried about the child.

Actually in the line of work my mother is in, she HAS to report it if she knows that a child is being abused in any way so right now she has to. Doesn't matter if she's directly involved, its the code of ethics in her line of work. She is going working on it now, and I can't imagine it's easy but she has no choice.

My mother has tried to tell them that its clearly munchausen syndrome and that once the baby starts to talk and walk the mother could do more serious things like poison her. Right now it's easy for her to pretend the baby is sick because the baby can't speak for herself yet.

I know its a difficult thing for my mother to report because no marks have been left on the child or anything of that nature and all of this stuff has been sprawled over a year and a half's time. But I think if you put it all together it paints a clear picture.

This same thing happened to a friend of mine who works for the Department of Transportation in Georgia. They were forced to take a 2 day furlough each month, yet were expected to come in on their days that they were forced to not take any pay. They just tried to make it seem like they needed to do their part to help out the people of the state they served. In my friend's division, at first, nobody came in on the days they had to take off. Unfortunately, despite being asked to get paid 10% less, they were still required to do 100% of their job. So most ended up having to come in on one or both of those days each month to finish up work. :/

Ugh.

So a couple of days ago my cousins fiance was walking home with their 2 year old daughter and she said she got jumped. She said the guy took her cell phone, took her wallet and did all of this while she had the baby with her.

My entire family was on her side - minus my mother and I - we had a hard time believing her story.

Anyways my mother just emailed me to say that: they found her wallet, and her cell phone in a sewer off a street where she was walking. Oh don't you think if someone went so far as to jump you they would have kept the stuff? For the record her wallet STILL had money in it. I must also add that my mother suspects that she suffers from munchausen syndrome.

Who makes up stuff like that? Well apparently everytime her and my cousin get into an argument she does stuff like this... either claims her baby is fainting and needs to rush her to the hospital, claims she's been raped, or claims she's been jumped.

She is a sick sick woman and I dislike her very much. I just feel for my cousin who is basically going to be held on emotional hostage for the rest of his life with her unless she gets help.

Sounds very much like Asperger Syndrome as well. I'm not qualified to diagnose anyone clearly, but I taught special education, and have dealt with both Munchausen and Asperger Syndromes. They often manifest very similarly in the form of making up scenarios or stories to be the center of attention. The thing that caught my eye is the facebook status. That's a completely inappropriate response to a potentially serious situation. If the situation is real and she reacted this way, i'd venture that it's Asperger. If it's her making it up, then it's probably Munchausen. Either way, that is a very difficult thing to deal with and if left untreated can ravage a family dynamic. Does your cousin have any suspitions?

I love my SIL, but honestly..

She's going on and on and on on FB about this diagnosis she's received for saccroiliitis and how she wants to really get "alternative" treatment for it. I do a whole heap of research and give her the names of ALL my alternative medicine physicians on the Island and she emails me back and says that she can't possibly go see an alternative medicine Dr. cause she can't afford it.. Okay.. so you WANT information, but you just don't want to PAY for it..

I mean really.. if it will WORK why wouldn't you pay for it? *sigh.. I understand things are expensive, but regular med. doctors will only treat symptoms by in large, where a chiropractor or naturopath will actually tackle the problem itself.. *i realize many might disagree with me, but for chronic pain management this is my personal experience.. I'd rather see an alternative physician HANDS down over a traditional Dr. when dealing with chronic issues.

I don't disagree at all.... I found a wonderful doctor in Philly, he's a naturopath from Russia. Wonderful doctor. He has gotten me off almost all the meds I was on in Canada for 6 years, as my Doctor there didn't bother to do blood tests or find out what was really wrong with me (in regards to having dangerously high BP) she pumped me full of drugs for years. She was masking the problem, not figuring out what the problem was. I went to the Russian, and he was immediately shocked at all the meds I was on. He said some led to side effects, which were then dealt with by a new drug, leading to a new side effect, etc. He ran some tests, figured out what was truly wrong with me. I am now off all meds but one, and will be going off that one next month (he is slowly weaning me off so my body doesn't go crazy). Soon I will be drug free, all because I found this natural doctor. I am so thankful I found him, as I will be able to get preggers in the future with no worries about being on drugs or harmful side effects :)

He does but he doesn't know what to do. He will talk about it for a while and then get upset and not want to talk about it anymore. I think he's just frustrated. It's the woman he's about to marry, the mother of his child. I imagine its hard.

Her daughter apparently has asthma, faints a lot, doesn't breathe at times, has had convulsions and only she has seen all of this... my aunt and uncle have watched that baby for weekends and see nothing wrong. Doctors see nothing wrong.

She makes up serious stories about being jumped or raped and does it for attention. When my cousin and her get into an argument she comes up with something really fast to make him feel bad. It's scary.

Your cousin is in an catch 22 situation. If she does have one of these syndromes and has been living with it undiagnosed for 20+ years, it's going to be extremely difficult to get help. But it's not all doom and gloom, and she can get treatment. I just feel very sorry for your cousin. It must be very difficult for him. :(

I had a very negative experience with a chiropractor and alternative doctors. I truely do believe that they work for some illnesses and sitautions, but not in all. I had a doctor who was overreaching. He literally told me that cancer can be treated naturally. Not that he should be some sort of spokesman for the profession nor was my experience any indication the norm.

I figured I should post this stuff in here rather than off topic.

So because the health care price is going up by $100 a month, through work, my Husband is reviewing the whole thing to see what isn't really needed.

In looking at some of the 'accident' stuff he found that if you dislocate your finger they pay you $150, but if you break it they only pay you $50.

So anyway I said, well we have the 'cheap' high deductible plan, what about the people at your workplace who have more expensive plans, what will they be paying now, are they all up in arms?

Well, as it turns out they have cut out all the other plans - now the only option they give is the high deductible - so those people that had comprehensive plans for their families have now been dumped on this other plan.

Honestly, all this stuff, it makes me angry and I just feel like going home.
