I just bouth a bunch of yellow peaches at a farmer's market last week. They were really, really good. Farmer's markets are awesome.

Farmers markets are the best, I insist on buying all of our fruits and vegetables at them when they are open for the seasons.

I really like having fruit trees in the yard, in NZ we had a hugeee plum tree, lemon tree and a passionfruit tree (not crazy about pf though).

Here I see orange trees with oranges rotting on them - eat the oranges people!

The farmers market in the city where I work is quite infamous. They offer a program where for $25 per week, they will deliver 8 vegetables to your office. You dont' even get to pick. To make it even better, most of the time, they aren't even normal everyday veggies.

Ugh. My sister in England belongs to an organic farmer's co-op thingy where they deliver organic meats, fruits, and vegetables straight to your house on a regular basis. That would be awesome. Nothing like that, here, though. :(

I have tons of farmer's markets by me which is great  One of my favourite things about the summer season are markets.

The white peaches were from California, Krikit.

But there are white peaches and yellow peaches. In Canada I only ever had the yellow ones so I didn't know any different. The white ones aren't under ripe, they just have no taste.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
