I tried vegemite once I think. It was weird but I don't have a horrorifying memory of it so it couldn't have been that bad. Yet he still looks at me weird when I have my peanut butter toast in the morning. :P Apparently, it's perfectly acceptable to eat a yeast by-product but a peanut one is nasty. There is something wrong with this picture.

Though my favorite Aussie thing is chicken salt. Mmmmmm....so good on fries.

Plus, I've already got the guys in my office wanting me to have a cook out when Ham gets here to make them Aussie burgers. I still think it's wrong to put a beet on a burger. :P

I think our peanut butter is too sweet for the Aussies. (Kaffy, Vanessa, everyone.....is that about right?)

I love their sandwiches..........chicken AND salad!!! ;) Oh and meat pies..........

Neil had his Visa interview on Tuesday (Sydney time).......we are approved!! WOOHOOO!!

I'm so excited to take my hubby to Aus. He hasn't been yet and there's so much I want to show him. He doesn't like "jello" and I don't mind it here but it tastes so artificial. I told him that if he tried the Aeroplane jelly (esp the rasp/stawberry one :D) he'd be a total convert. There so many things (food wise esp) that are better in Aus but I have my man here so I'll just slowly acclimate (and get my family to send me supplies :D)

Hey guys, I updated the K1 thread here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=3116457

which is the post which explains P3 as they've changed the US embassy in Australia website AGAIN so ALL the links were dead... /sigh.

If you had any of these links saved, updates required :D

Don't forget the mail order sites here.....they are a bit more expensive but you can get (some) of the things you are craving from home! :D

And I agree..........The fruit and veg you get in AUS is FAR superior to the tasteless stuff we get here.

Thanks Kaffy! I haven't tried PB from over there (yet). ;)

THe amount of preservatives in the food here scare me....There is food that has been in our fridge for weeks (Not including fruit and veg) that should have gone bad, but is still fine to eat. Like bread, I went to go make toast yesterday and I thought for for sure my brown bread that had been in the fridge for nearly three weeks was going to be mouldy, but it was still fine. NOT normal at all....

Something a little different I want to ask - Who here is living in California? What was your experience with getting a drivers licence while having your AOS pending?

I am printing the last of the forms this weekend. Got home to my medical report sitting on the sofa so now it is assembling the interview folder, printing off all remaining evidence etc. We are both ecstatic and hopeful that I will be there by April 18 (my birthday)....Does anyone think that will be feasible?? I mean how long does it take to get to the embassy from this part??

I received P3 about 2 weeks from NOA2 notification. THEN as soon as I sent off P3 I got the interview for 3 weeks later.

The reason I sent P3 late was because I was waiting for med results, police check and info for the I-134.

Lets assume 2 weeks for P3 for you, so month and a half from now till interview so... POSSIBLE... but unless you have tickets already, buying tickets on such late notice will be $$$. I'm honestly thinking best wishes for you but don't get too excited at the idea.. it'll be very close. Just tell him you're giving him 2 extra weeks to think of a good bday pressie :D

Well I have the police check & medical all here in the folder and the package containing the I134 & other assorted bits are also here...so a fast turn around for P3 to get back to them. We know buying the tickets at the last minute will cost $$..we have allocated 3k for flights for Bek & I....as for birthday present...his arms around me is all I am wanting

We also need to start thinking about the wedding stuff..we have set the date for June 5th...so time to get cracking on that too

So Ham finally got his police check submitted yesterday. Not sure how long it'll take to get the results back but hopefully he'll be able to send it all in next week or the week after. If he does then maybe by mid-April towards the end of April we'll have the interview. That means he'll have about two weeks to schedule the move over here.

I really wish he hadn't taken so long in getting all of this stuff done. It drives me nuts how he's so flippant about when he gets here. Though his family doesn't help. They don't want him to leave so every weekend they're asking him to come over and do stuff for them or go places with them by using the excuse that they're not going to get to do it again for years since he's leaving. It's frustrating me because in the last month I've only gotten to spend about an hour on the phone with him each week because he's so busy with everyone else who is giving him a guilt trip.
