Ok I am filing this week. I have gotten paranoid and so this is what I have. I know I am just in freak out mode, but I love my baby so I want to be sure this is right.

1. Tax Returns for last year

2. Car insurance documents from when we got our car insurance two years ago to date with the same policy number as the car insurance documents I have current.

3. Lease and even the rental application we both signed when we moved & Additional information form with last address and current address on it and the deposit request form dated from when I requested my deposit back.

4. Copies of the conditional green card back and front

5. a letter from our old property manager when he first moved in and the criminal background check they did on him and a letter saying the date we both moved out.

6. Our I865 change of address notification from the USCIS

7. A letter from our bank stating that we have a joint savings account and all of the statements up to last month.

8.Letter from new property manager saying we signed the lease on company letter head

9.Lead Based Paint Disclosure and mold prevention forms we both had to sign before we moved in

10. Letter from my company of when I started health plan and when I ended it.

11. Medical cards from when we started our policy and changed our policy and the new cards as well.

12.Copy of enrolling into new medical with all the family names on it

13. 9 sworn affidavits.

14. Photos

15. Plane tickets with both our names on it and itinerary from when we went to Vegas last month together. I am even sending in the baggage labels since they have both our names on them for the same flight.

What else can I possibly send them? Did I miss something important?

Quick question my fellow Aussies - when you got packet three form Sydney, was it ever a hardcopy? Or did you only ever get an email version of it?

I think that if they have an email address, they will send it to that, if not, a hard copy will be sent.

Both packet 3 and packet 4 were sent to Cindy's email (even though I had giving them mine), so look there too :)

Ok...they have Alex's email, but the email that Alex gave the NVC of mine is wrong! I have two email addy's and the lady at NVC had trouble understanding my usual one, so he gave her my alternate...except he didn't add .au at the end of it, and forgot there was an underscore between my first and last name. When I called NVC to check if our packet had gone to sydney, I corrected the email, but of course, my packet was no longer there. Alex hasn't gotten an email to his account yet, and I have not gotten a hardcopy in the mail. They've had my packet for four days now, and nothing from them yet. I am getting worried!

if your email is incorrect it will bounce and they i'm sure will use Alex's. If your worried, email the consolate with your concerns :)

Does anyone know how closely the consulate looks at address history? My fiance has moved around a lot in the last 16 years and in some places he only lived a month or two so he can't remember the dates on everything.

Plus, he's moving in with a friend of his too but wants to keep his mailing address at his parents house. So do they look into the residence or the mailing address? And how closely do they look at the addresses?

I'm just so paranoid at this getting rejected because he's a bit of a nomad. :P

From what i can remember they asked for places of residence of 6 months or more, so you don't need to list those that are less than that i believe, just re-read the question and see if it asks that. if its all in the same city, eg melbourne, then i don't think its a big deal. I think this is so that they get all the police checks covered from where you lived, but the police check for us aussies is a national one.

hope that helps

Well, it's confusing cause all the forms also state that there can't be any gaps in the timeline. So if that's true then he'd have to put dates for when he lived at a place for just a month. I'm not sure if this one specifically states no gaps but all the ones up to it say that.

Hi Everyone..

Am in the midst of completing Packet 3, however due to illness of my father may have to ask for an extension

Does anyone know how long the medical report is good for and has anyone received approval for an extension of their Fiance Petition due to terminal illness of immediate family?

I have already had the Police Background check done and they should have received that weeks ago, all other paper work is ready to go, i just havent had the Medical done in case it was only "good" for 3 months, if i receive an extension for completion of packet 3 didnt want it to be out of date and have to spend $500 to get it done again.

Also does anyone know if the medical takes care of the blood tests re HIV etc? am not too sure just what the medical covers that they require. My petition is only good until December 7th, should i email them requesting an extension or send a registered letter to the US Consualte in Sydney?

Lastly, Leonard will arrive in Australia within a couple of weeks, we are awaiting further Tests on my Dad to ascertain in the cancer has spread or not, these wont be done until just before Christmas (after my Petition expires) but if the tests come back to say the cancer hasnt spread we will go ahead and complete and submit packet 3 and send in Letter of Readiness for Interview.

Once Fiance Visa is approved are we allowed to get married in Australia before we fly back to the STates for our American Wedding as we have planned to have two, one here in Australia for My Family and Friends (parents are too elderly to travel) which we were planning on making just an unregistered Ceremony but if we can legally get married here and again in the US we will, would appreciate your help with all of above.

Am So excited Leo should be here December 4th if all works out... its been 12 months since weve been able to be together!!

Cheers to all Breezie

You have to be legally wed on US soil, so getting married legally in Australia, whilst the right thing for you family situation, is totally out of the question for the US visa. If you do, you wavier the rights of a Fiance visa as you are married, and would have to start over to file for a Spouse (K3 or CR1) visa.

Having a mock ceremony/practice ceremony, where no legal documents are signed or where you don't have someone who can legally perform a marriage (a celebrant doing it without you signing the paper can be considered just as legal as signing the paper i believe) may work, but you need to get all the answers from the US government otherwise they may deny you entry at POE.

Hi everyone!

Sorry it's been a while, Brian came to visit the last two weeks and it was wonderful to see him again - it felt like we'd never been apart :D

Hope you're all doing well. I am busy getting things ready for the move. 36 days to go! I am in the process of selling stuff, packing stuff and moving house (gonna spend time with my parents before the big move).

Quick question: does anyone have any recommendations on shipping stuff over? I don't know where to begin.
