WOW! good good for you girl! HUGGLES

well as you all know its been almost 6 months since kai and I got married. I got a different job as my old boss was being verbally abusive and I snapped there. I was crying all the time. However my new job only pays 7.75 an hour (more then the last one) and I am STILL looking for a second one to keep him here. I am at my wits end and stressed out completely. I have been hunting sponsors down to no avail and am super stressed out that he will get sent back.

I dont know what to do.

Does anyone have an advice on how to get my wedding dress to the states? A woman in my office suggested mailing it DHL, but that scares me! I was thinking to take it on the plane as carryon. Hmmm Any one got any suggestions?

Thanks!

I took mine as a carry-on. I used the dress box that it came in and put that inside a carry-on bag

what do you mean by 5 x 23kg limit? did you take 5 suitcases and pay over the baggage allowance?

i think i will take 3 suitcases and just pay the extra.... how much do you reckon it would cost?

this is what the Consulate sent me (I had an CR1 interview):

[*]One photograph

[*]Valid passport

[*]Visa Screen Cert - for healthcare workers - prolly N/A for you

[*]Original Birth Cert and one photocopy (I had mine certified, went to the local police station and asked -- thanks for the tip on that 1 Lyndel!)

[*]For minor childre - court order verification sole custody to immigrating parent...Im guessing N/A for you too?

[*]Original Adoption decree or evidence of name change when applicaple, original and one photocopy

[*]Original Divorce Cert and one photocopy

[*]Original Marriage Cert and one photocopy

[*]Original Police Cert and one photopcy

[*]Original Court Records if applicaple and one photocopy of each

[*]Original Military Record if applicable and one photocopy of each

[*]Evidece of financial support - I-864

It didnt state where the medical was to go,

so I just put mine at the end and had no problem with it.

I gave them the original, I made copies for myself and one to hand in just in case.

They did keep the original though (it was that booklet you gave to the doc).

Hope that helps coming with your Interview

Cheers

Paul

hey guys, i found this waaay up the front of this thread and wondered, do you actually need to get new copies of all this stuff for the interview in sydney for a CR1 visa? i have sent the majority of this stuff, bar the medical of course, already to USCIS and NVC.... wont they just send it all to the embassy and all i really need to take is my 3kg envelope, my passport, my medical results and my evidence?

they already have my birth cert. and marriage cert. and police cert. and all that stuff.

My husband and I were both moving back to the US so 2 suitcases were mine, 2 suitcases were his and the 5th one was an extra which they allowed us to check-in for free ;) (not the norm, we knew the airline counter manager)

what airline are you flying? each airline has different rates for extra baggage

Ummm probably qantas but if you have any ideas lemme know!

I'll be booking a flight soon! I need a cheap airline!

Try United Airlines, they're usually decent with price. You won't find a cheap flight anytime soon unless you leave before December 9th, since the holiday season is coming out. I found out that January 19th seems to be the day they prices start to drop back down again, but in between you'll be paying around the $2000+ mark. Qantas is a better airline, but definitely expensive =/

July 2007 - met Jesse at a beach party held by mutual friends in Long Island, NY

May 2008 - J-1 visa expired, had to move back to Australia

July 2008-September 2008 - lived with Jesse for three months in Staten Island, NY

March 2009 - Jesse comes to Australia for 3 weeks

April 2009 - Engaged!

05/20/09 - I-129F petition mailed in

05/22/09 - NOA1!

05/25/09 - touch

09/09/09 - NOA2!

10/01/09 - due to fiance's illness, we are abandoning pursuit of K-1 at this point. Packet 3 received from consulate but won't be returned.

There are usually some decent deals on Asian airlines if you don't mind routing through there

Hi guys

Just a quick question for those who have had their interviews already, should I bring more photos with me to the interview? I sent in alot of evidence with the packet but wondering if they are likely to ask for more?

The packet had about 20 photos in it, and emails, IMs, flights, receipts, wedding preparations etc

Thanks for your advice
