We had our I-129F approved on September 18....and I called today (10 days later) and NVC still don't have it?? How long does it generally take until they get the package? Anyone know?....most timelines i see it's only a few days.

Jesse only just got our packet 3 emailed to him (a bit over 2 weeks after approval), I was never even sure what day NVC received/sent it... good to know that Sydney has it now though, I DHL'd my DS-230 to them on Friday and it was delivered yesterday morning.

The NVC told me the same thing when I first called (I think the guy on the phone typed my number in wrong). I called back half an hour later and they told me it was there.

Call back and maybe they'll give you a different answer. Or Like Cindy and Warren said, it might already be on its way to Sydney

Did you get a touch the day after your NOA2 like we did which I assume was it being sent to NVC.

It might have been sent to sydney already, lets hope so

Yeah we got a touch on Monday the 21st after it was approved on Friday the 18th. I assumed it was being sent out to NVC on that date. But NVC have no record of it arriving.

The NOA2 hardcopy states 'the above package has been approved and sent to the listed consulate' ..... but obviously they all to to NVC before getting to the consulate. I'm just confused and wish i knew where it was

Packet 3 was emailed? We didn't put email addresses anywhere on the I-129F.

And the DS-230 you emailed to the Sydney consulate after getting packet 3?

The NVC told me the same thing when I first called (I think the guy on the phone typed my number in wrong). I called back half an hour later and they told me it was there.

I'd called a few times and got the same response....however i just called back again now and the woman said it had just been entered into the system.

Phew...i can breathe again now!

Yep. I'm pretty sure I remember there being a spot on the I-129F where we put Jesse's email, down the bottom near where you sign it. I haven't gotten anything snail mail from the Consulate.

I downloaded the DS-230 off the consulate website, filled it out by hand, and mailed it (via DHL, but that's not necessary... I just happen to get free shipments with DHL) to the consulate.

And yeah, all the petitions go through NVC before being mailed to the consulate

I went and checked the forms, and you're right. The I-129F asks for the petitioners email addy.

We're finally at NVC...hopefully out shortly! Fingers crossed.

Thanks vylex! I have been getting everything together. We have the signed lease and the medical cards where we pay for the family medical and everything. I did get all my affidavits signed and notarized. I don't have to file till next month so I am doing them anything just to be safe. I already have 7 of them and the rest of the friends, family and even the neighbors are going to do one. I wrote up this kick butt affivaditt that says we are all willing to testify before an immigration officer so I am sure if it's written right it will be useful. We don't have the cell phone plan because quite frankly I am cheap and I don't want to pay for a cell phone lol, but the energy bill is in both our names so I will send that as well. I am sending tons of junk lol.

WHEW HEW!!! YOU ROCK!! That is awesome. I am feeling more and more confident each day as I pre-pare our Removal of conditions. We file on October 28th. I am working on paperwork already. I will make sure we have everything possible. This is a great check off list.

That's great news!

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday by an email for the Packet 3 - I wasn't sure it was being delivered like that (and not sure if a hardcopy is coming but I dont think it will be necessary anyway). The packet 3 email came two days after the consulate got the petition from NVC! It's moving fast now.

Now I just have to wait for my medical on Oct 12th...

A quick question to those who've been approved: What is the average time frame from sending in your packet 3 to the interview date? Brian will be here in November and it would be really awesome if he was at the interview with me

Well, I have some not-so-good news...

This takes a little history - For as long as I've known him, Jesse has had some pretty deep-seated issues and has suffered from depression. It was never really much of a problem for me, and the longer our relationship went on, the better he seemed to be getting. A few months ago he moved into a new apartment with a friend of his, and since then he's been on a slippery slope back into a bad depression. While he's been a pot smoker since he was 14 (and I've been ok with that), he hadn't been on hard drugs since we started dating, however he's been using them a lot since he moved into the new place and I can only assume it has contributed to his downward spiral.

When I went to visit him in August, he realized how messed up his life had gotten, and how much all the bad things were getting in the way of his feelings for me. A few days ago, he said he couldn't go through with a marriage the way his life was - it would be condemning the relationship to failure. I am heartbroken to do it, but I agreed that the best thing we could do was end the relationship so that he can focus on getting better and getting his life back on track. We are at a pretty awkward stage of not talking at the moment, even though I miss him like crazy and want nothing more than to hear his voice, but I'm hoping that things will smooth over a bit later and we can at least go back to our friendship. I want to help him as much as I can, but I don't have high hopes of us ever getting back together as a couple.

It sucks, because we were so close to finally being together... but it is what it is. I am sad beyond words, and he is ashamed of himself for how much he's hurt me because he's let his life get so out of control. So we are abandoning the visa at this point, I will try to get on with my life here in Australia, and hope that he has the self-discipline to get himself into therapy and get his life together. Above all he is my best friend, and while he still loves me and wants me in his life, it looks like it cannot be as a couple at this stage.

I might still hang around these forums to help out where I can, but if you don't see me for a while... you know why I am trying to stay positive, trying not to let depression get to me, trying to stay busy and get through the grieving process.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the wonderful help and reassurance they've given me - this is a ####### of a process - and good luck to everyone still going through the motions.

Awww Soph! I'm so sorry! I really feel for you having to go through this whole mess. I can only imagine how difficult it must be right now, and i'm glad you're at least holding onto friendship together at this point.

You're amongst friends here, and i'm sure everyone would like to see you around the forum whenever you feel like posting.

I don't know what to say Keep trying to stay positive about what's ahead for you...easier said than done i know... and i hope you guys can progress from the point you're at now.

I am so sorry to hear this story. It made me ball my eyes out. It's good that you are both adult enough to realize that it is not going to work out. We are with you and support you. It is better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all and who knows perhaps this change in your life will lead you to a very different man and a very different kind of love.
