Hi everyone.... I'm just popping in to say no action yet on my cr-1 case, got noa1 and one touch then that's it so far....

Not expecting much yet I guess...

My husband went back to the USA today and it's our 8 month wedding anniversary so I'm pretty sad really..

I won't depress you all anymore, just saying hi really....

hey everyone

so hubby and i are thinking about returning to australia ....

can anyone tell me where to look to see about his visa and also our daughters? ... and all that stuff?

I called Washington recently and they gave me the usual it takes 3 - 6 months, also said they have had a few more applications lately. I had heard on other boards it was really quick.

You can send all your application papers along with the medical (done by a panel Dr) and state and fbi checks. I havent quite worked out how we pay for it yet.

Stay in touch cos soon as I have US citizenship, (just got the interview letter for August) we will be applying too.

Hi guys,

It's been a long while since I visited. I am overdue haha. I hope everyone is doing well.

Sharyna, my wife is in the same boat and she will have to remove conditions first (convert conditional GC to 10 yer GC).

After that we wait one more year since her entry so she will apply for citizenship AFTER her 3 year anniversary of entering the country even though we will have been married for almost 4 years. Wow...just to think we've been together that long.

good choice  we are staying put until I get my citizenship too.. have plans to move back to Asia to live for a couple years afterwards though

I think the timeframe is 2 years (minus 90 days) for removing conditions, and 3 years for naturalization. In my situation I entered in August 2008 & received my green card then, I will apply to remove conditions in May 2010 and in August 2011 I will be eligible to naturalize.

Hi Everyone,

Just touching base once again. Medical appointment coming up on August 18th and then off to Sydney for August 25th interview. My stomach does a lil turn everytime I think about it. Due to past DUI, I have been advised I have to pay an additional $55 for an alcohol assessment at the medical. They love milking it, don't they! So basically, I think most of it will depend on that aspect. The interview itself doesn't phase me. Actually looking forward to taking the rugrats to Sydney to catch up with my best friend.

Ok enough chatter lol....

Hi all hope u dont mind me joining in,

i have been married to my hubby for nearly 6 yrs now and we have been living here in oz for 5 yrs.

we are now wanting to move back to the US with our two lovely children.

We are going to do the DCF- has anyone here done it that way?

i have heard it is quicker that way? anyway my hubby is going to take time off work next week so we can file the I130 and get the process started.

i have a couple of questions cos ive looked at the immigration websites and they are confusing me lol

because my hubby has been working here in oz he wont have a job when we go back straight away, so we are going to get his dad to go joint sponser, now does his dad just fill in the forms and send them back to us? or does he have to go to immigration himself?

and also we have 2 children together, do we have to do anything for them before we go? or are they automaticly accepted in the US cos there father is a US citizen?

anyway sorry for all the q's

ill update next week when we file for the I130

Thanks :)

Hi ausdi welcome to the forum :)

Yes, we did DCF last July through Sydney and it was a very easy and quick (7 weeks from the time we filed our I-130 to the time my visa was approved)

1. Good thing you have a joint sponsor lined up. You don't need the I-864 forms until after the I-130 is approved and you receive Packet 3 but it is good you are getting organized now because it means you can fast-track the process later on. Email your father in law the I-864 form, ask him to fill it out and send it back to you by mail, attaching copies of whatever is needed (copy of proof of citizenship, copies of W-2s, etc)

2. Your kids. Did you file a Consular Report of Birth Abroad for them yet? If not do it now and they wil be recognized as automatic US citizens and you won't have to go through the immigrant visa process for them. Information here: http://sydney.usconsulate.gov/consular/acs...nship/crba.html. SInce it has to be filed in person I would ask to see if you can do it at the time as your I-130 appointment

Good luck with the I-130 appointment (not that you need it, it's very simple & straightforward). Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Hi guys, have been going in bi weekly to check for any movement on our file, Status still says the same since April 24th, 2009 - Case Pending, we received NOA1 and then nothing since, doesnt even show anything different since we lodged it, has anyone lodged in April or have any current updates, when i look at the Vermont Processing time lines it only says December 30th 2008? going to be a long wait i reckon.

Hope all is well and Kath thanks for dropping me a note was good to hear from you and yes its been cold down here, bring on SPRING!! im over this cold but as i said to Leo im in training for Tennessee winters ehehe.

Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your week only two work days until the weekend..

Hi all!

Just wanted to let you all know Ben made it here safe and sound and we had the wedding Monday evening :) It was simple but beautiful and we're so excited about going forward from here!

Quick question--how long should it take to receive his ssn? We ticked the box for them to assign him one, it does get sent to him in the mail then, correct? We can't get him ID or a bank account, etc. etc. right now!

Looking at getting AOS stuff started next week--not looking forward to another round of paperwork, but at least we're together to do it this time!!

Hope all are well and good luck to the people just starting their journey!

Hello all :) I've been haunting a while and also posting: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206016 my experiences.

Whisper2me - interview on the same day! See you then maybe. I'm at 10am, you? :D

Breezie54 - You said you filed in April. I used this link (from this website) http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...ge=k1historical to have an approximation of how long my case is away. I didn't find the USCIS "processing times" any use whatsoever. If you look at the 2nd row, 2nd column graph, it says "I-129F's with an NOA1 date of roughly X days ago [approximate date here] are being processed". I found it was VERY accurate for me. As of today, they're processing March 18. This graph is pulled together using the information from people like us who update our timeline when stuff happens. Hope that helps.

myperfectflaw - I've heard it can take just 2 weeks, other people have had issues. I think it just depends on the day and the person processing. I read somewhere that you can go to an office and get the SSN generated really quick. There was a thread somewhere about it.

I wish you all best luck for speedy processing and luck at the interviews. I'm sure you'll all as excited as me :)
