good luck!

all went smoothly with my medical, just have to go to my GP tomorrow and get some booster vaccination shots.

Ahaha, thank you for reminding me! My GP told me I needed to get booster shots almost a year ago - apparently my rubella vaccination wore off - I'm going to get that done asap so I won't have to bother later on =D

My I-129F will be in the mail in a matter of hours, I can't wait! Jesse has stayed up all night getting it all ready, he doesn't have work today so he's just waiting the night out so that he can go get photocopies first thing in the morning and then stop by the post office ^_^

July 2007 - met Jesse at a beach party held by mutual friends in Long Island, NY

May 2008 - J-1 visa expired, had to move back to Australia

July 2008-September 2008 - lived with Jesse for three months in Staten Island, NY

March 2009 - Jesse comes to Australia for 3 weeks

April 2009 - Engaged!

05/20/09 - I-129F petition mailed in

05/22/09 - NOA1!

05/25/09 - touch

09/09/09 - NOA2!

10/01/09 - due to fiance's illness, we are abandoning pursuit of K-1 at this point. Packet 3 received from consulate but won't be returned.

Hi, I am in the process of organising my police check and the US embassy site says that if you live in QLD or NSW your police check will be fowarded directly to the consulate which takes approximatley 3 weeks. Can i get this done if i have my NOA2 but not my packet 3 yet? Or do i need to wait for the packet 3? Thanks!!

You can go ahead and do it once you have the NOA2...both police certificate and medical are good for up to one year per recent e-mail with Sydney. If we had waited for packet 3, we would have been waiting forever--he never received his in the mail! I got the info from the consulate through e-mail and we took care of it that way. Good luck!

Thank you!!

^ You can request a blood test to test your immunity. If you want to get it done ahead if time at your GP just have a look at the vaccination list here to find out which one's you'll need (they are age and gender specific) and ask your GP to order a test for those.

lemme see if I can find you a link to the vaccination list

I had the immunity blood tests done and found out the only thing I was immune to was Measles! Apparently all the others (mumps, rubella, chicken pox etc) had worn off over the years! It was not fun getting a jab in my arm and one in each butt cheek in one afternoon to make sure I had all my shots haha!

Did anyone else have their medical done by Dr Waks in Sydney? I just thought he was the nicest little old man Dr ever! :)

One more questions, I was planning to pick up my medical results from Dr Waks the morning of my interview but the checklist for Packet 3 lists medical results......is it ok for me to just take them in on the day or do they need them beforehand?

Hello everyone!!!

Wow - been a few days since I've posted and its full of action up in here haha..

@ Mara - sorry to hear you're still going through this mess. I can't believe it ..well, actually I can since I went through something similar..I hope you end up getting some good news soon so you can get to the states by august!

@ Tom&Ren - I was going to do my medical with Dr Waks but instead, I had Dr Miller do it for me. He was a nice old man as well and it was a breeze. Since I didnt have to do any blood test (came prepared with my previous results) and no further vaccines (except one of them, cant remember) and xray due to being pregnant, I was given my medical results then and there. I sent this along with the packet 3 as this was included in the checklist I was given.

ROC Journey:-

05.11.2012 -- mail I-751 packet

05.14.2012 -- Packet arrived @ VSC

xx.xx.2012 -- Check Cashed

05.15.2012 -- NOA1 dated 05.15.2012

05.31.2012 -- Biometric notice date

06.27.2012 -- Biometrics Taken

01.23.2013 -- Card Production Ordered.

01.28.2013 -- 10 Year Green Card Received

Woot!! Interview has been scheduled for June 9th at 8 am!! I'm so excited I can't stop bouncing in my seat! If everything goes as planned, Ben should be arriving here just before July 4th--he gets welcome home fireworks and all!! :D

Also, I'm looking into airline prices and available flights to get an idea, and wondering--does he have to go through POE in LA, or can he do that at any international airport? Seattle would be closer, so would love to get him in through there if possible!
