The only way I know how to answer this question is by posting my experience: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/206016-australian-beneficiaries-packet-3-to-interview-date/page__view__findpost__p__3256993

You'll understand why I think EARLY is better.

Thanks!

The wait for the initial screening is what took the longest for me - about 45mins - but that is pretty standard wait time for LAX. Once they did the intial screening and sent me down to the secondary area, it only took another 10-15mins.

Good luck with your POE!

Ah, yeah, i think when i was there in january it took about an hour, lol. i learnt some valuanle lessons though, like to ALWAYS go to the toilet before exiting the plane, lmao. lesson learnt

Oops sorry..should have been more clear! I meant the 'New Immigrant' line (secondary screening where they took my envelope, fingerprint, signed some papers and stamped my passport), that they sent me to after I had waited 45mins in the Visitors line for the intial screening lol!

Ahhh ok my bad, lol I never had to go thru that bit, the officer at the initial screening took my envelope, fingerprints etc

The list is here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/australia/39176/pdf/dsl-1076.pdf you're supposed to include this check list as well.

The list is

- DS-230I (not II)

- 2 x DS-156 (signed)

- DS-156K (NOT signed)

- Birth cert and photocopy

- Police cert(s) and copy(s)

- I-134 and supporting docs

- Medical record

- two US passport size photos

I don't see any reference to the NOA2 but even if it was there you ONLY send a copy. Not the original. And make sure you have a copy of it somewhere because you need it for AOS.

How did you get P3? It'll be the same unless you completed the email address form that should have been attached to your P3 email.

Hey guys just a quick question. Have any of you found a good, cheap & reliable Shipping company that will ship to the US? I have around 4 large boxes.

We used Grace Removals from Brisbane to West Virginia. I can't remember the exact price but they were the cheapest of everywhere we checked and they were great with customer service. They helped us fill out all the custom forms and things to make sure that we wouldn't have any problems and they were willing to store the items for free while we were waiting to get his visa information from Sydney (he left a week after his interview so tying off loose ends was a bit hectic lol). But I'd recommend looking into them; we were happy with their prices and more than pleased with their customer service.
