Yeah, mine was in the mail Friday and received Monday too... :) don't forget not to open the yellow envelope and pack it safely in your hand luggage... You'll need to present it with your passport and the i94 you get on the plane :) where are you flying into?

Nice one :) we had a wedding in our garden, was inexpensive but very nice still...

Ahh lax huh? Me too... I didn't get many questions at the passport gate there :)

I had one of those small trolley suitcases for my hand luggage and it had a pocket under the lid... I put it in a plastic document wallet from the newsagent then put it in there and it arrived nice and safe and undamaged :)

oh yeah, i saw the photo you posted, you guys look so happy :) We're n ot going to have anything big or fancy or anything, we've got a few places in mind for the ceremony, we want something outdoors. for the reception we're not sure yet but it won't be anything very formal or anything. god, it feels so good to be able to talk about this stuff without worrying about that damn visa, lol.

oh that's good to know :D

Mmm, i'll have two hand luggage ( small suitcase and an australia bag that my mom bought me) the australia bag will go under the seat so i'll put the package int here so it stays as close as possible to me at allll times! :)

Well.... I MADE IT! :dance:

POE last Wednesday through LAX - was very easy - I was the only person in the 'New Immigrant' line at 10.30am - that's gotta be a first lol!

Happy to be home finally - although it would have been nice if Texas had cut me some slack with the heat! It's not very nice to have someone coming from winter to have to deal with 107F a couple of days after they get here lol! Thank god for air-con!! Although...I guess I can't complain...another VJ friend flew into North Carolina the same day as me - and got hit by a hurricane two days later!

Congrats to the recent approvals, POEs and interview dates!

USCIS

30 Nov 2010 - Sent I-130 to Chicago

1 Dec 2010 - I-130 received at Chicago

18 Apr 2011 - APPROVED!! NOA2 text and email

NVC

29 Apr 2011 - Case entered into the system/Case number assigned; Medical Exam in Sydney

30 Apr 2011 - Police Check Application sent

2 May 2011 - Called NVC and got Invoice ID number

3 May 2011 - Sent DS-3032 email

4 May 2011 - Received email reply from NVC for DS-3032; Received Medical Exam results

5 May 2011 - AOS invoiced and paid

7 May 2011 - AOS package sent; IV invoiced and paid

9 May 2011 - AOS package delivered to NVC according to tracking

20 May 2011 - RFE for missing IV package....still waiting on Police Certificate!

Damn, I didn't know there was a new immigrant line? I just went thru the lines for non us passport holders/aliens and the lines were soooo long lol...

Oops sorry..should have been more clear! I meant the 'New Immigrant' line (secondary screening where they took my envelope, fingerprint, signed some papers and stamped my passport), that they sent me to after I had waited 45mins in the Visitors line for the intial screening lol!

The wait for the initial screening is what took the longest for me - about 45mins - but that is pretty standard wait time for LAX. Once they did the intial screening and sent me down to the secondary area, it only took another 10-15mins.

Good luck with your POE!
