Okay, another question.... (sorry!)

So the Police said they won't send the Police check results to him, and they want to know where to send it. Obviously, I guess the Consulate with our case number. Is that how it works? And will the Consulate tell us when they get it so we can schedule the interview? (Or send back that 'interview readiness checklist' thing?)

So confusing!!

Hi There,

When i had my fingerprints ( had to have ink was not given a choice what a mess at the end) on the request form i put the address of the Consulate in Sydney, plus our case number, the Consulate will not tell you when they get it, they will just send you an interview date with a check list.. I took my whole Lever ARch file down to Sydney but they didnt even look at it, but is best to have all your documentation with you just in case, make sure you follow the checklist and prepare the documents they ask for and take them with you.

Cheers Kaye in Tennessee

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not posted in ages, but have been crook with the flu for the past 3 weeks, we have also been out and about searching for just the right plans for our new house and have found one and paid the deposit last Friday, we are getting a new Double Wide Manufactured Home to place on our existing property its just gorgeous all 2,160 square feet of it..

Have been back to Charlotte, NC to go over the 5 page RFE we received for my AOS, the lady there looked at us as if we were idiots, said it was quite easy to follow all that they wanted, I said it may be for you as you are staff but it is not actually as straight forward as it appears, we received 5 pages of RFE and all they wanted was for us to complete another I-864 removing all my Australian financial details and just putting in what i had here in the USA {we were told it had to be in the USA as Immigration could not get their hands on any of my money/assets etc if i ran up huge debts here in the USA) also they wanted proof of ownership of assets etc from our Co Sponsor even though we had submitted her last 3 years tax returns with her I-864, PLUS they wanted proof of her American Citizenship i mean would somebody who isnt a citizen submit Tax Returns??? Ya gotta be kidding me.. so called my best friend and she re-did her I-864, sent copies of her latest 2010 tax return (remember we submitted all this last October 2010 so that tax year wasnt complete yet) sent copies of deeds and land tax forms for all her properties, plus a copy of her US Passport, we also submitted copies of my Husbands Deeds, Land Tax etc, plus i had to submit another copy of my birth certificate (ive sent one in everytime ive submitted something) so this was like the 5th copy ive sent them.. We sent everything we were told to at the Infopass Appointment in Charlotte and posted it off by Certified Mail on January 13th, and received the Certified Mail receipt stamped received by USCIS 18th January, then we waited, received text and email on January 26th that they had received our response for further evidence and it was being reviewed and processed at the National Benefits Centre {where the heck that is i have no idea} Then on February 11th i got a text + email re my AED On February 10, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. Then on February 16th another text + email re my AED On February 15, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Then on February 17th, another 2 texts and e-mails re my AOS & EAD.. On February 16, 2011, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for March 24, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER. Please follow the instructions on the notice, plus On February 16, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice.

On the 22nd i received my Employment Authorization Card marked NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO US, along with the official I-797C, Notice of Action, Request for Applicant to appear for Initial Interview re Form I-485, Application to Adjust Statues, well this lil beauty was full of stuff, telling us we have to travel clear over the other side of the state down in Memphis on March 24th, Husband must accompany me to interview, {if i didnt speak english fluently i was to bring an interpreter}.. Then what i was to bring with me was listed, as im reading through it, im thinking we have submitted all this stuff, some of it twice already, ie my Birth Certificate, ive submitted this 5 times since we started the K-1 journey, they want it again, along with all my travel documents the list goes on, so i said to Leonard, I RECKON THEY HAVE LOST MY FILE!! I was speechless for 2 seconds, then i just did the lolly..

Firstly they put me through the ringer literally when i tried to get my AP expedited as my Dad was dying, even though they finally expedited it, the document arrived the day before my Dad's funeral back in Australia, so needless to say i was unable to visit with him before he passed or attend the funeral.. then all this ####### over my AOS which we submitted back on October 4th!!

When we had to drive to Charlotte, NC ( a good 3 1/2 hrs away from us in another state) for my biometrics, we had to leave the night before because of the time of the appointment, plus we had to drive through a snow storm to get there, was nerve racking, we were in the office for 20 minutes and it was over, then we had to drive back home through another snow storm, my info pass appointment was again in Charlotte, NC thankfully weather was much better that day so we did it in one day.. Now they want us to drive 11-12 hours down to Memphis for an interview? Im soooooooo peeved.. why cant we go to Charlotte, NC much closer? Plus we supplied everything they wanted and had told us in the RFE that we were elegible so what is this interview for?

Sorry if i have gone on, but i needed to vent, as it has all made me so peeved (insert cuss words here lol), Leo is just so upset that i am having to go through all of this on top of loosing my Dad last November, so he is not too happy with the Govt right now either. If anyone has gone through an interview can you let me know what eventuated?

Success! Got it today! He's got my Affidavit and all that paperwork cause I got it to him early. He's done his medical and waiting results. He's done his Aus print police check and the results will be mailed to the Consulate.

The only thing I still can't figure out is where to start the NZ police check. I know the Consulate is supposed to start that and give him some forms... but Packet 3 didn't really explain that at all.

I told him he'd better be mailing those 'immediate' forms back out tomorrow morning at the latest! :P

After I sent the immediate forms back to Sydney I got the following email....

Dear Visa Applicant,

Thank you for sending the DS230 to our office which we received on August 02, 2010.

Question 30 indicates that you have lived in more than one country for periods of six months or more since reaching the age of sixteen.

You are, therefore, required to obtain a police certificate from New Zealand (along with the Australian Police Certificate). Please find the attached instructions for obtaining this police certificate.

<<NEW ZEALAND.doc>>

Kind regards

So that was when I signed the Privacy Application and returned it to them asap so they could obtain.

No worries :D always happy to help. It's what happened next that was annoying lol.

I signed the form and sent it back the next day, by the time I went to the interview I think they'd had it 3 weeks from memory. They then turned around at the end of the interview and said "oh its not back yet so we can't approve you today"!!! I was gutted lol.

The good news is that the police check was received back 3 days later and my passport with visa inside about a week after that. So tell him not to stress too much if they do say that on interview day :)
