EandR - Why leave it to chance? Wouldn't you prefer to have your flight in the afternoon/evening and not have to worry. The interview is nervewracking enough without worrying about missing your flight!!! I mean, I would put money on you being finished by midday, but you never know, and why worry? If it were me, I'd book the flight for 6pm or later.

I agree with this BUT make sure you have something to do. I finished my interview in less than 1/2 hour. My flight wasn't till WAY later. I was very tired (having slept hardly at all the night before) and had to pay $60 to change my flight to an earlier one.

Book around 2pm and you should be fine. You'll have an excuse for lunch. at the very least find out their policy on changing the flights in case you DO want an earlier or later flight. Had i know it would be such a short interview (they're never longer than an hour and rarely that long) and had i known it would cost $60 to change my ticket, I would have booked it WAY earlier.

Had my medical in Brisbane on the 24th June, the doc gave me 2 immunisation boosters(cost almost $100,not happy Jan), got the results on the 30th. Sent everything to Sydney, got the long awaited interview email on the 2nd July, have interview on August 3, at 8am . Flying to Sydney on the 30th of July, staying with my little brother and his wife for a few days in Sunshine, then have to catch a train at 5 in the morning to get to Sydney before 8........soooo early but ill be happy to do it. Bit nervous about going to Sydney, only been there twice and dont know my way round at all, loving my iPhone right now lol. Getting very excited about jumping on a plane to the US, cant wait to see Daniel again. Anyone else got their interview on the 3rd? Might see you there.....Good luck to everyone

GRATS!! P3 is about 2 weeks away so start organising (I'm sure you have already but it's all go from here!)!! i'm predicting that if you send the docs off as soon as you get P3 you'll have an interview before the end of August That's my guess. Woot!

Oh and they didn't keep my original A number that was on my K-1 visa. They have changed it to the other number that was on my first NOA for AOS.....it seems weird that they changed it.

A question for those of you who have been through the interview in Sydney: My interview is the 27th of this month, 8am - what time can I safely book my flight back home? (Going up to Sydney is not a problem, I plan to fly the night before).

I had an 8am interview also...flew to sydney the night before, got to my hotel about 9pm. Stayed right near central station. Was out of the consulate at about 8.45am. My flight back to brisbane was not until 5pm. I wish I had booked an earlier one, since I spent the rest of the day exhausted from lack of sleep and just wandered around the CBD. So yeah, you are pretty safe to book it back home at 2 or 3....unless you have friends or family there that you want to see

Thanks Vanessa - I'm still bouncing today Police certificates are in hand. Affidavit of support here, just waiting for Ted to scan and send through tax transcripts and payslips. Once he gets the new case number from NVC I'll book in the medical at Brisbane. So apart from filling in the forms I'm good to rock Woot!!!!

Grats to those who have upcoming interviews. BIG grats Giggles on your Green Card!

In 2007 I had some blood tests done to test all my immunities. I got a fax copy from my doctor of these old test results, but I decided that I should get an official copy since I have a lot of time up my sleeve. So I organised to have the results mailed to me. It'll take 2-4 weeks and didn't cost me anything to get the copy sent to me, so I'm gonna have my immunisation ducks in a row for the medical.

Tomorrow I'm going to the police station to get my finger prints done for the police certificate. My local station only does fingerprinting on Saturday and Sunday. For the NSW application form there's an option to put in my own address, which I did.

Yesterday I boxed up some summer clothes and sent them via seamail to my address in the US. I hope I won't be needing them anytime soon...!

Well, still a fair way off getting NOA2 and getting through the NVC gauntlet, but I like to feel like I'm achieving some forward momentum.

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary... I'm muddling through, but hubby is on deployment and can't even be contacted! But it's all good

I did, yes. I had a look at some of the other carriers but AustPost seemed the cheapest and easiest. It was a big box, weighed in at 7kg and cost about $84.
